It's spelled "git gud".
I thought about spelling it that way, but I am not good at any of the souls games. I did not want to give the wrong impression by spelling it the internet troll way.

Quoting: KimyrielleIf I remember right, Valve already hired the person behind DXVK, so it's not that they aren't getting compensated for their work.
Literally me. That's why I mentioned it ;)
Haha, I had no idea! I guess I didn't exactly tell you news then!!! :D

Thanks for your hard work!!!

OpenGL is still fine for low graphics titles but for intensive games Vulkan is a must.
That's something you might want to tell VP.

Then again, if they are stuck porting terrible games with terrible sales expectations I can't really blame them either.
Seriously, most of the stuff they're porting I've never heard of before. I keep forgetting that there even -is- a company left porting games to Linux other than Feral. On their website they list ARMA III as their only game in development right now - and if my memory doesn't totally betray me, Liam reported a while back that the Linux port of that game will no longer be actively worked on.
A hat in time was listed on their website not long ago. I really hope they are still porting it. I will totes be sad if VP is no longer bringing it to Linux.

Looks like both A Hat in Time and Gravel are coming to Linux, ports from Virtual Programming

I got a hat in time from the humble bundle. I will def buy it again when VP port it. I am so happy about it being ported to Linux!!

Artifact is an exciting and engrossing card game from Valve, out now

The poll on twitter was really surprising to me. I thought there would be more Linux users interested in Artifact.

Quoting: liamdaweBingo. Feral's ports are specifically tweaked directly to run as good as they can possibly do it on Linux in the time they have. Quite different to Proton, which has such a big target I would be surprised if a Feral port ever performed worse than DXVK with Steam Play.
One of the first feral ports i played for hours, Grid Autosport, performed better in Proton:
https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/for-those-on-nvidia-the-3965405-driver-seems-to-have-some-noteworthy-performance-improvements.12564/comment_id=134440

I suspect even DeusEx MD would perform better, i could not try it because it won't even start on my side, but other people say it works, who knows.
Anyway, if is true that proton gives a 20% performance penalty, (like his developer stated on github), then it should perform 10% better on proton (Feral ports is about 30% slower than native dx11).
I think that was more of an issue with Opengl. From the benchmarks I've seen and when playing Rise of the Tomb Raider I was very close to windows performance for my setup.

Quoting: RadiarionI think I've just died and gone to heaven! I've just a couple of months ago dumped windows for linux mint, and so far I have no regrets. I love it. Wish I knew how to set up nvidia drivers correctly though (sorted mine by accident and don't know how..)

My only issue is gaming. I love the tomb raider games, and complete every one and today's news is bliss. I really thought I'd have to turn traitor and install Windows to play shadow of the tomb raider but feral games to the rescue.

I really hope this is the start of more new games going to Linux, steam made a good start, Gog too and I've just found part on Linux, but hopefully more to follow.

I can't wait to part with my hard earned cash to someone who supports Linux gaming, and I know I won't be dissapointed.

Thanks guys, looking forward to it release...

NOTE: Is it possible for someone to create an easy install nvidia drivers package for linux vergins like me? Just a thought.. If not, anyone have an idiots guide (and I mean complete idiot) to installing nvidia drivers on mint 19?

Long live Linux!
Message me and I can help you with the nvidia driver.
