Can someone please explain to me, how is this better than running Windows version of DOSBox with Proton?

Performance is not an issue in majority of DOSBox titles on modern systems. What can native DOSBox possibly offer me opposed to DOSBox in Wine/Proton?

Wow, lots of salty comments out there :) Nothing quite as encouraging to an indiedev than a community filled with dread and negativity :)

I for one trust both Dead Mage and 11bit to fulfill that promise. But since I am a fan of the studio I would probably still use Steam Play to play Children of Morta on Linux without a proper Linux build available.

After you use it for a couple months, let me know how durable it is. Some cheaper constructions get super worn down after such period. Buttons start having problems with registering, analog sticks start twitching etc.
