Quoting: Sil_el_motuh. i feel a bit dumb. for what is this.. nvidia on demand.. my gpu is barely getting hot when i am not playing any games, so for what do i need this piece of software?

For laptops who have both a low power Intel GPU and a high power Nvidia GPU. The tool lets you switch between the two on the fly. Or also (I assume) to launch certain programs using the NV, while your desktop carries on with the Intel.

Thanks. that makes sense to me.

the trick doesn't work for me on arch. did everything and on the second try i even changed the name liam in the starting options to my folder ;) ... but it gave me just 5fps. 60fps instead of 55 before.

Quoting: MaathNot to be a Debbie Downer, but I caution that this could become an Epic exclusive. I don't know if using the Unreal engine increases that potential or not.

In the Steam Forums they answered this with "It's announced for Steam and coming to Steam Early Access :)"

Quoting: EhvisThe Lab - Proton. Works perfectly, but it tends to crash the first time you start a new minigame. As if the game takes issue with the long shader compile time. Always loaded after a restart.

Do you use the Index? I have no Controllers in the game and can't press Start on the very first Terminal.

Quoting: CorbenTo the Linux Index users: does the microphone of the index work for you? I mean does it produce any amplitude on the input? It's detected for me, but it doesn't record any voice. That's why I now went for an AntLion Modmic wireless...

don't work at all. but there are still not many games that run for me. beatsaber and the ones from croteam. do you have more luck?

Yeah. You are right. Unfortunately there are a lot of games that still need this. Sadly the fix from valve also don't eliminate the need to click.
Some games like onward eliminated the need of clicking the tumbstick for running and just register the push of the stick to the very end of its range as running.

Quoting: EhvisSomehow I feel the whole thumb stick click is blown out of proportion.

i myself have no click-feeling at all at any edges. it is quiet uncomfortable with games that need it to run, and these are quiet a number.
i bought the controllers for 300€ so i expect them to work for this price.

Good news for VR fans in the US, the full Valve Index bundle is back in stock

Sorry to say so, but to have Fun with the Index you have still to dual boot. Even Beatsaber doesn't work as smooth as on windoof. Only games that work as good as on Windows are the very few native ones. Maybe (hopefully) with the next proton Version this will change.
