Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & the Fight for Sanctuary, the (currently) free DLC is out, but not for Linux yet

Quoting: BrisseI pressed "Download" and it doesn't actually download since it's not on Linux yet but when I go back to the store page it says it's in my library now.
Ah, for me now as well. It didn't before, so they must have changed something.

The DLC will be free until July 8th, where 2K said in the press email it will be $14.99 after.
Not sure how to interpret that. Does it mean that if you play it before July 8th it's free and it will disappear after that only to return if it's bought? Because it doesn't appear is "in my library".

Quoting: mylkai dont see your point?
what does google see? when and which game i am playing? steam also has this data, even if you are offline
Technically they can see how you play. Whether you go the pacifist route or go full genocide run. Then they can decide (probably incorrectly) what kind of person you are and share that with other people/organisations that should not know that. Just an option.

The Bard's Tale IV: Barrows Deep to launch on Linux "late summer", no Bard’s Tale Trilogy due to Steam Play

Quoting: liamdaweThe Bard's Tale and The Bard's Tale Trilogy are two different things.
So this is about the original 80s stuff? I didn't even know those existed. :D Then it's even weirder because that should all be dosbox/emulator stuff.
They were remastered/recreated with fancy new graphics and sound.
The thing is. It's available in the Humble Trove where it's listed including the trilogy. But apparently the Linux build only contains the 3D version and exits when you try to select one of the older games.

Edit:
Downloaded the Windows version. The originals are just zips (password protected :| ) with Apple IIGS disk images and what looks like the KEGS emulator. Which is available for all OSes.

Quoting: MohandevirIt depends on the pricing of each games and the conditions, imo. Will they be ours forever, like Steam, even if it's not sold anymore, or are these games exposed to disapearing from the store like the Netflix model?
Kind of irrelevant in this. If Stadia stops supporting it, it becomes useless since you can't run it anywhere else. Which is the major problem with purchases for a service like this. Unless the price of games is so low that you would accept a throw-away purchase, this is a real deal breaker.

Quoting: GoboBefore you spend big coin on Stadia, take a step back and browse the Google graveyard [External Link].
The second that I read you actually have to buy games, that exact thing came to mind. So unless there is a link to play games you own in other stores (highly doubt it), it would basically be the worst of all worlds.

Quoting: scaine[Off topic, but how the hell did you manage to get a accent on your lower-case L character in "player"?? I thought it was a dead pixel on my monitor and only realised it was a unicode character when I scrolled up and noticed it was moving! :D

The how isn't so difficult. I'm more wondering about the why. :S:

Quoting: PatolaThat's weird, almost no Linux natives. Are all these games streaming from and running on Linux?
I suppose the correct answer would be that they're running on the "Stadia platform". Which may be Linux/Vulkan based. But it is not your desktop.
