Quoting: PenglingJust bought one this morning. No many stores that have them in The Netherlands. And apparently they're not considered very interesting because I had to check behind the other gift cards to find them.Quoting: EikeAvailable at about every second store here in Germany.Lucky! Over here, you see cards for all of the consoles, then the Apple and Google mobile stores, and then a few cards to encourage children to go for microtransactions in titles like Minecraft and Roblox, but no Steam ones at all.

Had the flu, so finished Cassette Beasts on Steam Deck. Did play some desktop, but didn't have the head for 3D games for a while so did some Factorio and Autonauts. I was trying to get through Turing Complete before that, but that required way too much of my brain. This weekend was better and tried some No Man's Sky for the free weekend and continued to finish Road To Gehenna DLC in The Talos Principle VR. Still don't really like No Man's Sky. It just doesn't feel like a space game to me. The Talos Principle (and the DLC especially) is still one of the best puzzle games ever made. The VR version is not quite perfect and I only intended to play it a bit to compare difficulty with the second game. But couldn't resist and I'm almost done 100%ing it again.
No Man's Sky Omega Update arrives with a Free Weekend and lots new

As for the game. Still have the same issues with it as I had when it launched, so the free weekend just confirmed that this is not my game.

Quoting: NezchanPlayed a bit of it over the weekend. I didn't have any issues running the game. Didn't change anything, so it must have been a standard Proton 8.Quoting: nadrolinuxGame constantly freeze for me after 10-15 seconds in main menu (I tried to change window without borders to fullscreen, disable vsync etc. but nothing helped) however I'm not sure if it's related to Omega patch or switch to Silverblue + Steam from Flatpak, because before I used standard Fedora Workstation. Other games works fine. Can you check if you see similar problems with Omega?I find it's usually best to wait three or four days after a big update, to let things settle out and get a bunch of bugfixes. The last two or three have been unplayable on launch day for me, but they get better.

Quoting: finaldestI make a proposal for Valve to have a "Desktop" verified tag next to "Steam Deck" verified. This would then allow devs and publishers to officially support a game via Proton on Desktop PC's the same as they do for the steam deck.I can almost guarantee that it wouldn't be used. It's the same responsibility as putting out a Linux build and I just don't see publishers biting.
I know that in most circumstances the games just run but I want "Official" Support. I don't like the idea of having to rely on Proton to play my games as there are no guarantees the game will run in future and a lot of publishers don't care either.

Didn't try a lot, but nothing that I didn't know was coming stood out for me. One unfortunate find was that Escape Simulator VR is XR based and won't work.

Played through Black Mesa about two years ago. Yes, the Linux build for those that are convinced that it doesn't work. It's not super stable. Some crashes related to the physics system while jumping into the portal to Xen that apparently happens on Windows as well.
As for the game itself, I'm mixed on it as well. Some of the changes are good, but others not so much. I'm especially mixed about Xen. It looks amazing and it's nice that it made more of an effort than the original did. However, it is tedious and making an enemy invulnerable based on where it is is just not a half-life way of doing things. The game would have been better if the whole chase stuff wasn't there and if the rest of Xen was a bit shorter.

Quoting: LoudTechieThere's no modern form of DRM of which if you can duplicate it you can't break it and thus if you make your duplication open source you've aided and abetted anyone who breaks the DRM with all that knowledge you've made available. Not really true. The epic launcher DRM is such that games that use it won't launch if you don't start it from the epic launcher. But Legendary managed to replicate its functionality perfectly fine. And presumably without breaking the DRM since Epic is apparently aware of these projects and doesn't seem to object.

Vertigo games can be pretty fun, but they're generally not a stranger to a good amount of jank. So let's see. And, since they're a Unity developer, that it won't get caught in the XR problems that plague a few other games.

Quoting: wvstolzingI'm putting up a local mirror for this *right now* --- hopefully it will be done cloning before Nintendo sends in a cease & desist. They have no right to. I guess that might not really make a difference. But this project has been there for five years, so this update is not doing anything new.
