Wasteland and Starbase ARC will be redesigned to fit the standard set by other playing fields. The developers originally wanted to give some more variety, but since it's becoming a digital sport, they want a proper standard for players on the layout.
I'm still sad about the lack of flexibility from the player base and sometimes the aggressivity of pro players towards variety in maps.

Competitive game doesn't mean there has to be a single map with different textures. I wish there was new maps promoting different playstyles and strategies, otherwise watching pro games might eventually get boring.

CRYENGINE 5.4 Preview released, includes Vulkan support
27 Jul 2017 at 9:39 am UTC

Quoting: slaapliedjeI recall reading that Crytek wasn't paying their employees for like months at a time as well. Kind of weird that had some really successful games, then just sort of started disappearing. I mean if Valve didn't have Steam, with how long in between game releases, I think they'd be hurting for it as well.
Many employees left crytek to work on star citizen engine.

I thought cryengine was dead (crytek even).

Quoting: ShmerlWill it help Star Citizen, or Lumberyard is now independent from Cry Engine?
It should, there is nothing stopping them from pulling in Vulkan support from CryEngine, infact Chris said in the past they were waiting for the Cry team to do it.
But they forked a while ago and then made the (small) switch to Lumberyard and worked on 64bit a lot. There might not be much in common nowadays. Not sure they'll benefit much.

They used to be supporters of DX12 but admitted they switch their focus on Vulkan earlier this year [External Link], so they might already have been working with crytek or have their own work for Vulan.

Snoost, a new cloud gaming service has opened with Linux support, uses Steam's in-home streaming
28 Mar 2017 at 9:25 pm UTC

I would pay for such a service if it would allow me to play any game, even if I don't own it, or if there was a hourly credits option (buy 50hours, you have 6 months to use them).

Big drawback is of course the performance, most solutions like these are highly dependant on the ping, and were too mediocre for my requirements (even for my fibre connection). This seem to use AWS, so there's no instances in France for me (yet), and lag spikes are to be expected. I'm used to the 144fps and low input lag nowadays.
Also 60GB hard drive is disappointing this doesn't fit GTA+DOOM.

Still will test as there's a free try possibility. It seems you can add non-steam too, anyone tried that? how does it work? Can you mount a CD and install there? Copy files?

@LIAM, did you or anyone logged in with 2FA?

Quoting: runedaltonWe actually think the price is rather fair (in any case, due to server costs we can't go any lower). Some services have limited hours per month (e.g. 20 hours, for $20 to $30 per month), while Snoost is completely unlimited. That means you could literally play 10-20 hours a single day, and still just have spent a dollar.
what if you play 10 hours in a single day of the month?

The website states "Billed monthly", do you only pay for the day you used the service, or do you pay 32$ every month?
