Multiple statistics have shown Linux market-share doing better than ever

The Steam survey is indeed inaccurate. But I also suspect the user base is very different and less inclined to game on their machines. You have a very high proportion of very technical users - IT professionals, researchers and so on - and if they game at all they're more likely to do so on a separate home machine; or doing console or mobile gaming.
Myth.

We have 2.2%, 3.8%, 5.6%, 3%. All in all, the 1% figure can maybe be put to bed.
So either there's something odd about Steam statistics, or Linux is used more for everything else but gaming.
Or the Steam HW Survey is shit.
Yeah, agreed. The Steam HW survey is not only inaccurate but in my honest opinion geared towards Windows. The reason I say this is basically anyone who dual boots will show up as Windows not Linux, unless you go out of your way, way out of your way to rectify this which most people don't do. Other than that, if you use Windows in any place in your life and access Steam there you're a Windows user not a Linux user. So, if you buy your games on a Win PC at work, or a work laptop using Windows or any other similar issue. You're counted as a Windows user and that game sales is a Windows sale not Linux.
Valve really needs to fix that survey.

Steam survey has been proven to be inaccurate.

It has never popped for me and a user on reddit recently reported that it picked up his OpenGL version wrongly (ver 3.0 instead of 4.3) and it even got his disk statistics completely wrong.

The only thing it's good for is for Meraco to quote.

Floating point calculations are also limited in 32 bit processors.

Wine 2.0-rc1 released, also showing progress towards Overwatch working in a future Wine version

Wine? No thanks. If Blizzard isn't going to make a native client, then i, like many others here i'm sure, will not be playing their games.

And i played all of them from the classics like WCI & II to about 5 years in WoW. So i'm not a stranger to their games.

But i'm also not a stranger to their ignorance of the Linux community.
