Imo, the first version of Dead Cells was much harder with a much more limited set of equipment you can carry / use.

You were forced to build a specific way (survival/shield or tactics/shield) in order to ensure success at the Hand of the King.

Now there are much more options with weapons diversity resulting in many more build / play style options. It is a lot more refreshing and difficulty is much more manageable at lower cell levels.

Heck when I started playing, they didn't even have cell levels. I believe cell levels are real difficulty control.

I have seen substantial benefits in Remnants of the Ashes. You can see from mangohud that frame latency is consistent mostly now.

Before that, i used to have massive spikes in game due to shaders.

SFV works so well.. i can't tell that it's not native.

If i show this to anyone, they won't be able to tell either.
