Space shooter 'Disputed Space' arrives on Linux offering up intense 3D action

It must have been around twenty years* since I played Descent when I ended up buying Overload, which piqued my interest again so that I discovered D1X-Rebirth and now I'm actually playing Descent again. I know the graphics are still a bit dated, but it still seems to pull me in just like before.

*(Not counting Descent 3, which I played for a while after the Loki release of it for Linux.)

Vigil: The Longest Night, a 2D action platformer that looks seriously good will support Linux

I've been playing Castlevania since the 1980s, so this one is definitely on my watch list.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition is going to get some fancy shaders

Neverwinter Nights is one of those games that I thought about getting many years ago (there was a Linux version a long time ago, when there weren't Linux versions of very many games), but never did. Recently, I picked up the Enhanced Edition on sale, but I haven't started playing it yet (I have many games in my backlog these days). I do plan on finally getting to it relatively soon, though. Right now, I'm playing Overload and Torchlight II.*

*(I started Torchlight II a long time ago on my old computer, but considering how little time I had in that game, how long it's been, and that it would probably be a pain to transfer the save from my old hard drive, I decided to just start it over. Of course, I could get sidetracked by real life again (I have too many hobbies as well), but I've already gotten further than before.)

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoLife is Strange IS an indie game. [External Link]....
I have no comment on the multiple accounts in Steam issue.

I just wanted to point out that what you linked to is the very definition of not being an indie game. "Indie," from a purely technical viewpoint, means that the developer and the producer/publisher are the same company. The game was developed and produced in an independent manner. In actuality, the intended definition of "indie" means that the producer/publisher was not one of the big video game publishers that produce games using many different developers (that is, even if the development for the particular game involved was done in house by a big publisher, that doesn't really make the game "indie"). Since the developer is a separate company from the producer/publisher of the game, and Square Enix definitely is one of the big video game producers, this game is not an "indie" game in any way, shape, or form.

Six years later, the horror adventure ASYLUM should hopefully release this year with Linux support

I've gotten a couple of horror type games in bundles, but it's not really my thing (though I admit that playing Alien vs. Predator on the Jaguar was a bit scary, and I really liked that game when it came out). I have both Amnesia games as well as SOMA and have never really played any of them.

Rocket League can now be played online across Steam and all major consoles

This makes me wonder if it would be worth picking this up just to have something I can play with my brothers cross-platform, but I'm not sure they'd be interested. As far as I know, none of us have this for any platform currently.

Darwin Project no longer works in Steam Play, due to Easy Anti-Cheat

At this point the only games I have on my Steam account that are not Linux native are two games I received free from Humble Bundle promotions. Of course, Half-Life and Half-Life 2 weren't Linux native when I bought them (1999 and 2004; original Half-Life added to my Steam account in 2004), but they were the only two games I had on Steam before Steam started supporting Linux.

Linux hardware vendor Entroware has unleashed Hades, their first AMD CPU desktop

Quoting: GuestThreadripper CPUs are for servers and overkill for a gaming PC: best gaming cpus [External Link]
This article is written from a Windows-centric viewpoint (understandably so from a mainstream site). Vulkan graphics benefit more from extra threads. However, the biggest reason to consider AMD CPUs is that they are better bang for the buck processors, and that benefit is pretty much erased if you are going to buy from a computer vendor that charges a premium like Entroware.

Quoting: Kristian" 1 x PS/2 Keyboard/Mouse Combo"

I thought everyone had long since moved on to USB for these things.
PS/2 keyboards are supposed to have lower latency. A more tangible reason, though, is that USB keyboards are sometimes late to get recognized by the system during bootup, so you can't hit the key that's supposed to take you to the BIOS. My USB keyboard (Unicomp Model M clone) often doesn't even 'turn on' on the grub boot selection screen, which can get really frustrating.
That's definitely an issue even on newer computers with PS/2 ports. However, I've found that motherboards/computers lacking PS/2 ports work fine in firmware with USB keyboards (because they have to). Before USB 2, USB keyboards and mice definitely used more than their share of system resources, but that hasn't really been the case for quite a while now.

I thought it was interesting that Shadow of the Tomb Raider is already shown with a Linux compatibility icon. I'm guessing that this doesn't mean the port is actually available yet, just that they know it will be.
