I was never able to play the first one because the cutscenes do not play on Linux. This was reported by many people yet I never saw an update that addressed it.

Releasing a game on Linux requires a bit more effort than making sure it starts.

Installing the Director's Cut fixed my load issues! So far it is running great.

it says that this file is corrupted and creates problems:

'/home/user/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Wasteland2/Linux/WL2_Data/Streaming/Scenes/MainMenu.unity3d'

after removing it i was able to launch a new game and select some characters, anyway i end up having no hud, a lot of graphical issues with the 4 charcters, no sound and the game stucks, only the esc button works..

i'll try again tomorrow also with wine gallium-nine

I have the same issue and was hopeful that changing the file limits would help, but it did not. It loads the "new game" dialog but crashes about 2 seconds later.

My Player.log ends with:

The file '/home/micah/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Wasteland 2/Linux/WL2_Data/Streaming/Items/ItemTemplates_CharacterCreate.unity3d' is corrupted! Remove it and launch unity again!
[Position out of bounds! 275080 > 274792]

It crashes as soon as I hit "New game". The menu looks nice though...
