It is most likely because of steam summer sale.which may caused a surge of windows user to buy&play those cheap game rather than doing their usual official/other business.There is nothing wrong with linux gamer numbers ,they are just crused by a behemoth in case percentage.after sales end and those ppl had enough of gaming.windows % will go down again.

@Owner of the site; On an off topic here,But i dislike the idea that one person will amass
ultra monstrously huge amount of property by selling virtual shits,which is often laggy , cluttered,buggy,unsecured and scheming while other ppl around the world will not have their basic
needs like food,shelter e.t.c. I m not saying microsoft to be like gandhi.But nobody likes a
bloodsucker insect,this is exactly what they are.and if i find a opportunity to squash such a company no matter how small it is im going to promote it.and right now its by promoting vulkan for linux.

This, like I've said before, there's a lot more to a game than a graphics API. Anyone who says Vulkan will make more Linux ports is just wrong.

Its funny when OpenGl games are not released for Linux.Its even more funnier when (vulkan) game developer does not port their games to linux.Its simply because linux has a small gaming community,the developers can afford to be troll.Its obvious that, vulkan games are much probable to be released for linux than games using directx.

Don't give a shit about random youtubr posting their benchmark.The source is unreliable.As for Vulkan,Its multi-platform.so,it was never meant to be a silver bullet for Linux.But work as aegis, for shielding the weak form being totally devoured.Its up to Linux community if they can actually turn it into a bullet.

Valve has all the piecess here to make steam os a success.Just make some performece tweak on SteamOS And release HL3 exclusive for linux/steamOS with Vulkan.Even if only just for 1 week .If they can make a great HL3 ,SteamOS populatrity will rise like the steam itself.

free of microft claws?I dont think any1 truly wants that or dedicate themselves to that except
maybe for google.I m not saying google is saint or whatever but only they managed to make some
impact on the os market with android and likes.Others are all promise little delivary.

valve wants to push the platform,uncool(too much dependancy).The true factor is as many of u said vulkan is really the key rather than steam.If it can deliver better perfomence there will
be no need for windows only (DX12&LIKES)games.They will be multiplatfrom from day1.what i belive for vulkan and linux to be success is not only valve but also true contribution from all
of gaming industry and google really needs to make a step in here with their chrome OS or likes.
Linux will defintly be a succes in the future with iot and likes but that will take dedication.
In the meantime i will definitly be watching all this to make my switch to linux.
