Sega lived long enough to see themselves become the bad guy. Screw you Sega for this nonsense. "Character Animation in the Menu" WTF is that BS. I hope no one gives them a cent until they fix this garbage.

Think you meant West of Loathing, not Kingdom of Loathing:
West of Loathing is a laugh-out-loud funny RPG from the creators of Kingdom of Loathing. Set against the backdrop of a bizarre Wild West populated with undead monsters and giant cattle, West of Loathing’s combination of wry humor and role-playing mechanics makes it an addictive addition to the Stadia Pro library.

Quoting: PatolaThe video isn't on topic! They literally say:Quoting: sudoshredEven still then, if a person understands what they're paying for IT'S NOT FRAUD.I think you should have watched the video before responding this. It addresses this point in painful details.
"Games as a Service" is not the same as a "game service". A "game service" is usually a rental system. So if you pay a company twenty bucks a month and can rent games or have them streamed to you, but you can also buy them outright somewhere, then that's not what I'm talking about. That's not fraud, that's fine.https://youtu.be/tUAX0gnZ3Nw?t=186 [External Link]

The website is LITERALLY called Gaming ON Linux!
It isn't called *Gaming Only Exclusively Native Games On Linux"
If people don't like the content of an article, then don't read it! It's that easy!
Also Sparhawk, I enjoyed your comment the most, because that video isn't referring to Stadia. They're referring to MMOs and other games where your HAVE to have an internet connection. They even state in the video that gaming services, where you can stream games, is ok. It's about 0330 into the video if you'd like to actually watch the video.
Even still then, if a person understands what they're paying for IT'S NOT FRAUD.
And if anyone thinks they own their games on Steam, double check the agreement.

I definitely think we should drop the whole EEE when it comes to Linux. If Microsoft could buy it or if it was a small project that only Microsoft was contributing to, sure. But that's not the case. They can't extinguish something that Amazon, Google, Oracle, IBM, VMWare, etc all help to control.
Microsoft is trying to push their driver into the Linux kernel and they're already getting push back from the respective developers even way before Linus is involved. They're not going to be able to throw their weight around here, because these people know what they're doing, they want what's best for EVERYONE and not just one company.
Are there exceptions? Sure, however Microsoft is basically creating their own balls of code that don't play nice with anyone or anything and throwing it at Linux and telling them to put it in the kernel, which won't happen, because those folks know what happens when you do shit like that. It has a cascading affect that could literally impact the entire world.

Your absolutely right and I apologize to Larian then.
The Steamworld games aren't Vulkan on Steam right? Wonder if that would have made the port faster.
Guess I'll have to pick up Baldurs Gate 3 then. 😂
I seriously missed that point. Thank you for correcting me Liam!

Achievements, save data handling, possibly even input handling (Steam does some of this I believe), etc, aren't OS specific anyway. From steam to gog to itch to any console these are all different.
The biggest chunk of work was on Vulkan and they did that. The rest is superficial.
Just another excuse from Larian not to support Linux.
I was super excited for Baldur's Gate 3 and was going to pick it up on Stadia, but their garbage excuses have really taken the hype away for me personally.
The game went from an absolute buy for me to unlikely, just because I don't want to support their bullshit excuses.

All in all, we didn't save too much time from having a Linux build, most of the system work is dependent on the platform. For example, achievements, save data handling, input handling, etc is specific for the Stadia platform and it doesn't really matter too much which OS is running in the background. The biggest single chunk of work was porting the game to Vulkan, which took a bit over a month. No one is going to call bullshit on that?
