Patreon does not remove data from closed accounts. This ensured my data was left for hackers to find in the patreon breach. It's still on their site even if I made several requests to have my account credentials removed from their database.
This is a problem on more online services and I shun away from those sites if I know ahead of time. Privacy is very important to me (which is why I actively block the facebook sidebar widget on this site as well, among other things).
You may want to find alternative ways for people to support you if they have the ability to.

Parsec is another game streaming service, now with Linux support and it's blown me away

Quoting: MalThe streaming concept is cool. But this implementation is not very interesting for me.I think the cloud service you may want to use for Parsec handles the Windows environment licensing on the cloud side...?
The formula that makes streaming services popular is pay a monthly fee in exchange to the access to a vast library. Get the service without the hassles. Sony does it for instance.
This implementation is instead a pure desktop hosting service. Not dissimilar to the AWS we use for CI at my office. And whilst at work is very good to have control on the environment since ti gives you power, at home if I pay for a service I expect it to remove some hassles or other costs. But here I have to buy my game licenses, install them and (very bad) I have to buy a windows license as well. I'm basically exposed to all windows flaws and limitations and I'm even paying a fee for that. The only advantage is that I don't have to invest in hardware but for me this is still a weak formula. I would not dump my current rig for this.
The only use case I find for myself is when I'm travelling around the globe. But even in that case some Netflix is sufficient and probably more reliable (you never now the WIFI you find).
Cities: Skylines - Mass Transit released, probably the best expansion to the game yet

Quoting: KimyrielleIn the metropolitan area near me they have been working out the idea to connect two parts of a large city across the water by cable cars to attract tourists and take the stress off of the bridges and tunnels at the same time. I tried this in-game and made a decent profit on the line, so it's doable.Quoting: numasanMost of the time I've seen them in real life, they were used as a shortcut from the hilltop to downtown, in cases where the hill's steep side was facing downtown, so road access had to circle around the hill.Quoting: Purple Library GuyWell, I dunno about in the game, but in real life they can be handy in very hilly areas where roads have to meander and grades are too steep for rail.No doubt, I meant in the game :) Building on top of a steep hill or mountain still requires roads for services, but sure cable cars might be faster as in the real world. My initial feeling of them is just that it is rather niche and more for spicing up the look of the city.

The moment Parsec opens up cloud funding for a Linux client or similar, I need to know. There's so much to be gained from a service like this becoming platform-agnostic on the server-side as well as the client-side...
As for the configuration of the system; there is the option, once money starts flowing in, to hire some GUI peeps and set up a frontend which can offer one-click configuration for the more popular games at the time, perhaps in collaboration with game developers or distributors, but that's future talk.
Having the configuration as open as possible to allow the most diverse of configurations means they opened up Pandora's box on the largest collection of games they could hope to find.
The more they narrow that collection down with GUIs for the lazy among us, the less they will appeal to the larger masses. In this way it's a good choice to just dump to a Windows environment and allow the user to do whatever they want right now.
Basic economics.

I love Cities: Skylines and its more well-thought out DLC like this rather than the odd creator's packs and stadiums.
My main issue with it has been laying on the bug table for a while; complete game freeze upon making Steam snapshots or shutting down. I am probably the only one having the issue.
Other than that, it's a definite timesink for me.

First step; look up Fort de Bicêtre on Wikipedia [External Link]:
The Fort de Bicêtre is a military structure built between 1841 and 1845 during the reign of Louis-Philippe during a time of tension between France and England, in the Paris suburb of Kremlin-Bicêtre. The fort is part of the Thiers Wall fortifications of Paris, built under a program of defensive works initiated by Adolphe Thiers. The fort served as a prison for those involved in the French coup of 1851.Second; look up Maggie Simpson. Someone on the internet figured out how much Maggie scans for [External Link], for instance;
From Season 20 Episode 10 to Present, prior to Maggie being scanned the register reads $243.26.Third; Try to figure out where your life went wrong and acknowledge you have no clue about the meaning of Feral's teaser.
After she's scanned, it doubles to $486.52 therefore, logically Maggie costs $243.26.
Civ VI Steam forum mods banning users for expressing Linux support

One example is Microsoft having contracts for smaller developers wanting to release on XBox Live Arcade, forcing exclusivity until after the contract expired.
Linux as a whole simply does not have the funds to buy up developer interest in developing for us. There's no Patreon for a Linux advocacy group where we can all pay a monthly fee to help pay for game development. (May be an idea to set one up?)
We simply don't have the financial weight that MS and Apple have.

Quoting: Avehicle7887- We may appear so because we're the black sheep of the herd. Win/Consoles have it all, Mac is supported despite most of their hardware is shit and limited unless you're ready to donate an organ. Then at the bottom of the list there's Linux, an OS that is capable of running almost (if not) any hardware setup Windows can, Linux gamers are more likely to have a stronger system than most Macs and equal to Windows. (Have to bear in mind that Mac buyers aren't exactly gamers so whatever game they get is just a bonus). Both Microsoft and Apple pay developers and/or force them to agree to policies and terms requiring them to develop for their systems.

In over 12 years on Steam, this particular thread is the only one in which I have been banned (multiple times, once for the moderator SamBC to send me a message through the ban notification system(!!!)) and have had my posts removed.
Not once before has this happened to me, not once before.
I have reported this aforementioned moderator for harassment due to them banning +20 users in under three days' time.
I have ALL Civilization titles previously released and had Civilization VI on my wishlist, but am now boycotting 2K on principle. I will not buy from them, as I am not buying from other companies (Blizzard, Bethesda, EA) who have expressed anti-Linux sympathies.
Vote with your money.

Someone on the Steam Forums went insane claiming wine ports are damaging to their system. I don't agree with that.
I fully applaud TopWare's attempts to bring their older games to Linux.
