Originally backed the game..., refunded after Linux was delayed.
And now, after so much time, I don't really care about this game anyway. I bet you that devs would complain that there isn't enough linux users.

1. Intro is a bit weird. It is a personal story of family... tragic event... then cut to evolution of civilization.
2. Connecting basic game features to progress in game is stupid. "Hey, you can quit the game from main menu. But you need to build building X to get to main menu!" It is OK for some minor things, like skins, unlocking music or so, but basic functions should not require any progress. Especially save or pause function, which are so much important for people who need to stop game at exact time or stop it momentarily to do something different.
I am very much looking towards this game.

Valve officially confirm a new version of 'Steam Play' which includes a modified version of Wine

I will guess that many players and many devs are more invested in their games then in the underlying OS and there will be HUGE overnight switch. Most people are merely USED to Windows and don't see other alternatives as viable due to mostly cultural reasons (nerds & Linux), but they usually hate Microsoft.

Quoting: Alm888Guess what will happen when Steam refuses to launch after the Windows™ Update? My bet they will run towards Microsoft® and Valve® with their sticks and stones and demands to "fix it back". And what happens next? Microsoft® won't budge and Valve will be unable to do anything. So, enraged gamers will switch to "Microsoft Store" (no choice, because otherwise they will have to switch to Linux and, believe me, it terrifies most of them). Gamers can hate Microsoft® however they want, but they depend on Windows™ (most of them have to do their school homework on it) and will take whatever Microsoft® throws at them.Guess what will happen when Steam refuses to launch after the Windows update, people will run towards Microsoft and Valve with their stick and stones and demand to "fix it back", they will then google to fix the problem and then they will read proclamation from Valve that Microsoft changed API and there is nothing they can do. However, they can enjoy all their games on SteamOS or one of the many distribution, with link to installation and everything.

As for SteamPlay, great news! I think that we will see a shot up of linux percentage due to under-reporting! Valve can then come and claim that this big increase is because of these particular changes and claim it as victory, which might start an avalanche. But might not, depends how Valve will handle it.

Quoting: AppelsinPS: I would, however, very much like to be proven wrong! :DI don't think you are wrong, I think that Microsoft is late. Vulcan is already well-developed product with a strong corporate backing (Valve) that seems to be more adopted than DX12. The only way Microsoft might fight this is making proprietary extension for Vulcan. Any drastic change on side of their API will drastically change current ecosystem, unless they damage their own product so they don't work on whatever emulator you are running them. But then, this is gamble as this might as well go against them.

Quoting: PatolaFloating points arithmetrics differ between platforms and sometimes even between compilers. That is the current problem with Civ 6. If Devs are not aware of this problem at start and are not prepared to handle it from the beginning, you are probably doomed. The Banished dev had a nice blogpost about it.Quoting: bakgwailoPerformance. Also, being an house port, you would think CA would have solved cross platform multiplayer, but, nope. To be fair, the performance on Windows was/is also garbage, but, the Linux/OSX ports are even worse. Its disappointing as it really is a good/great game otherwise. You know, I wish I could understand this lack of cross-platform multiplayer. I reckon there are different network libraries for each system, but the packages themselves are regular IP packages, what difficulty might arise in crafting exactly the same packages (even if using different libraries) between platforms so they can communicate? A linux browser can connect to a windows web server and vice versa because the network layer is platform-agnostic. Why can't it happen in certain games?

don't. GAM sucks. The core didn't sucked THAT much and could be significantly improved if devs continued to work on it and released some patches and DLCs to improve it. But it got serious backslash, mainly because it was wrongly marketed as an empire building game, which it wasn't really. So devs/publisher cut their loses and balked out.

Quoting: DuncI have bought into GAM on release...Quoting: PatolaGreat! I bought the USD 1.99 strategy bundle. It has Space Hulk Ascension and Grand Ages Medieval, which I have been planning to buy. Thanks for mentioning that. I've been thinking about GAM myself, but probably wouldn't have looked at the bundle otherwise.

War Thunder is great. Runs nicely on Linux, although it has some bugs (I have to play in windowed mode, it has not standard behaviour of repeated key). Still, flying planes is fun. And I am looking towards ships.
