Multiple statistics have shown Linux market-share doing better than ever

Quoting: Purple Library GuySo either there's something odd about Steam statistics, or Linux is used more for everything else but gaming.
The Steam survey is indeed inaccurate. But I also suspect the user base is very different and less inclined to game on their machines. You have a very high proportion of very technical users - IT professionals, researchers and so on - and if they game at all they're more likely to do so on a separate home machine; or doing console or mobile gaming.

Long War 2 mod announced for XCOM 2

33 hours so far. Only part way into the campaign, and without the Alien Hunters DLC. Lots of fun, and I'll absolutely get the Long War mod once it arrives.

White Noise 2 now works properly on Linux, this 4v1 horror game is damn fun and here's a video too

Can you choose if you want to play as monster or as human? This looks like a pretty good party game.

Quoting: Eike
Quoting: JanneGreat game, and I want to finish the story. But I just get too queasy to play after five-ten minutes :(
I had the same with their engine. Could halfly fix it with these settings:
Graphics options => FOV 100
Game options => Bobbing off
Performance => GPU Speed => Zoom blur and soft-focus to off
(All back translated from German, wording may vary.)
I've tried all of these. Unfortunately it doesn't help.

A big part is learned expectation. In the beginning I played for 1-2 hours straight. But now my brain associates the game with nausea, so even if I change the parameters I now start feeling a little sick just by seeing the initial screen.

And it's such a good game too :-(

The Humble Store is having a huge birthday sale, tons of stuff for insanely cheap

I just bought Lumo on a Steam sale, and have been happily reliving my isometric youth with what turns out to be a truly great game in the isometric platformer tradition. Now I got Dawn of War II solely on the recommendation of this website. I hope it delivers :)

Slime Rancher, the awesome game about farming adorable slimes has been updated

I got this on a whim, and was surprised just how much time I ended up spending on it. The gameplay isn't deep by any means, and it has some balance issues, but it has a "just a little more" play quality that really sucks you in. I've stopped playing now that I've discovered everything, but once it gets another update I will certainly return again.

The latest 'Steam Client Beta Update' fixes wired Steam Controller support on Linux
21 Oct 2016 at 12:45 am UTC Likes: 1

Just got a Steam controller a few days ago (thanks to amazon), and it updated the firmware wirelessly. That means I already have this version of Steam, right?

Now, for actually using the controller, I get the impression it's a great piece of gear hampered by a lack of sensible defaults. I tried Slime Rancher, for instance, and the default controls make it impossible to turn in the air when you're flying. Whoever assigned the defaults for that game clearly never actually tried them.

What have you been playing recently, and what do you think?

Right now, Shadowrun: Dragonfall. I only got partway through it before real life intervened when I first bought it, so now I've restarted from the beginning. Lots of fun.

Valve expects to sell 1 million Steam Controllers by early 2017, will allow configs for other controllers

I've waited forever for them to release it in Japan. No luck so far; maybe I'll just buy it on Amazon or something. I've never really used controllers (always used trackball and keyboard so far) so I may not have the same trouble getting used to it as some other people seem to have.
