Steam Link gets upgraded for Raspberry Pi 5 and Raspberry Pi Bookworm
4 Dec 2024 at 9:01 am UTC

I used to use Steam Link on a Raspi 3. The application was not updated for years, so I had to use an old version of Raspbian. Experience was decent, at least for games where reaction time is not important, as lag was noticeable. One of the first games I played on it was Ittle Dew 2. The puzzles were fine, but the bossfights were difficult due to high ping. This was on the same LAN, with wired connection to both host and pi.

Considering Steam Link is really just a remote desktop application, it worked really well for streaming videos.

It has since been replaced with my old desktop computer, which now acts as a media computer.

This is great. I fell in love with this type of games with Commandos 2, and its revival with Shadow Tactics and Desperados III is just fantastic

Crusader Kings III. Managed to unite Norway to one kingdom with the first ruler, then his son ruled it from the shadows, and married away an unimportant daughter to the indian Maharaja. Unfortunately, all my kids died, and my only living heir was the indian son of that unimportant daughter, resulting in the entire kingdom of Norway becoming part of India...

And of course, became the most revived player in Left 4 Dead 2

Well, then... Time to cry again at the end of next year?
I re-watched the trailer for Finding Paradise too, and it basically has nothing to do with the actual game, so I doubt we should draw any conclusions from this one
