Parkitect, the theme park building game has officially entered Beta with a new update
3 Dec 2017 at 6:33 pm UTC

Purchased this last year and I finally had another go today after reading this article so thanks for the update.

The improvements since last trying this are impressive to say the least. I have also enjoyed building the custom building shells for shops and service buildings as well as decorating my park as there are tons of props to choose from. I have not yet tried building a custom coaster yet so will see how this goes. I prefer custom built coasters as a general rule.

This is a fantastic game which reminds me of "bullfrogs" 1994 Theme Park game of which I must have spent hundreds of hours playing so am looking forward to the campaign.

I have no regrets buying this.

I must admit that I was a little surprised by the numbers and although these numbers may be revised down I would not discount the possibility that they are correct due to a many factors. Here are some of my thoughts.

1. Back to school sales after the summer holidays. Chrome books perhaps?
2. Steam Linux library is growing by the day.
3. Microsoft embracing open source and Skype for linux. (True intentions questionable.)
4. Atari announcing a new Linux based Console/PC for Q1 2018.
5. Ubuntu 17.10 due to release, BETA is out.
6. Many security/malware attacks in the windows ecosystem.
7. Wine and dx11.

The above is only speculation on my part but if the trend continues then its good for the linux community.

Cities: Skylines - Green Cities has a new trailer and release date, also details on a free update
27 Sep 2017 at 5:17 pm UTC

As a huge city builder fan I will not be getting this hippie tripe. All this DLC achieves is to cover up the broken simulation by reducing traffic and pollution affects. There is so much wrong with the game that needs fixing. They need to fix the following:-

Fix the ridiculously small farms.
Crime Simulation along with other city services.
Fix Broken traffic simulation and add more road options.
Add more Industrial options and specialisation.
Add Medium density zoning.
Add Mixed use zoning or policy.
Add Challenging gameplay.

A futuristic DLC/Expansion would have been preferable and way more fun to play with than this. For now I am done with CS until the game is fixed.

Valve makes adjustments to user reviews due to review bombing with 'histogram' charts
20 Sep 2017 at 5:36 pm UTC Likes: 2

To be fair, Review bombing is justified and I have taken part in it on 1 occasion in relation to GTA5 modding. Crappy behaviour should not be tolerated and review bombing is effective in this regard.

Valve should just keep the current review system as it stands.

I don't really pay a great deal of attention to steam reviews as I generally check out the games forums and watch game play reviews on YouTube. I do find it useful for screening out bad games though.

The graphics look awesome and love the way fencing works.

City-building strategy game 'Banished' is no longer having a Linux port
13 Sep 2017 at 5:47 pm UTC Likes: 1

Its a real shame that the port is no longer happening but I can understand as it is only a single dev who developed the game so maybe worth making an exception and support the dev by purchasing the game anyway.

This game does work under wine though as I brought the game when it first released so I have tested it and it does run pretty well under wine. I was still a windows user at the time.
