So EA are breaking Steam Deck support for their back catalogue of games one by one?
Why would EA suddenly decide to add Anti Cheat to their back catalogue of old games?
I smell a big rat with that kind of behaviour.
I guess Microsoft, Sony or Nintendo has a hand in this. I guess one of them has new hardware on the way, A new handheld maybe.
I will put tinfoil away now.

I was watching YouTube yesterday and come across Jays 2 cents playing PC Simulator. I thought to myself, I wonder if a sequel exists?. It turns out there is.
However
I discovered there was a sequel that is only available on the epic games store. So went to steam forum for 1st game to find out when its coming to steam only to discover its never coming to steam.
This is why I have NEVER ever used epic store and to this day REFUSE to use their store.
Valve gave us great games, hardware and linux support. Epic has offered nothing but paid exclusives and a closed ecosystem. Tim Sweeney is a hypocrite.

So I have a fantastic 55 inch gaming capable TV which I paid over £2k for so I could have all the HDMI 2.1 features and £1k for a HDMI 2.1 capable GFX card but the HDMI forum wont allow me to use said hardware because they refuse to allow AMD to release drivers.
If I had the money I would be looking at taking legal action. I am now 3k out of pocket thanks to the HDMI forum.
I use my TV for UHD4k Bluray and Gaming Consoles and all these require HDMI. This is why I chose HDMI for PC also. But now I am forced to buy a new display that used Display Port if I want to use all the HDMI 2.1 features I have already paid for.
I really wish HDMI would just Die. Sick of jumping through hoops.

For UK retailers,
You can get steam PS5 and MS gift cards in GAME stores by purchasing at the till. You get a code printed on a till receipt for the value purchased.
I use this method for the consoles as I don't like registering a credit card for security reasons.
I have seen them in some of the supermarkets also at the checkouts.
I only buy physical games for the consoles now as I have ditched digital purchases.

I think it clear at this point that native builds on Linux are over.
We need an option for games to be officially supported on Linux desktop.
I make a proposal for Valve to have a "Desktop" verified tag next to "Steam Deck" verified. This would then allow devs and publishers to officially support a game via Proton on Desktop PC's the same as they do for the steam deck.
I know that in most circumstances the games just run but I want "Official" Support. I don't like the idea of having to rely on Proton to play my games as there are no guarantees the game will run in future and a lot of publishers don't care either.
I have not pre ordered the game due to the CS2 situation but I am really looking forward to playing PA2. I have been happy with what I have seen of the game so far and really hope we can get steam deck support as a minimum.

If studios are not making money over fist then there is a serious problem in the industry and I point this finger squarely at the publishers.
Too much money spent on marketing and rolling over to shareholders. Preaching certain ideologies and milking the gamer hard while completely ignoring all concerns and complaints, Just look at Starfield and Cities Skylines 2 as recent examples. Publisher messes up big time and rather than accept responsibly they just blame the customer and label them toxic haters ect.
To be honest I would welcome a big gaming crash in order to clean out the trash, Its just unfortunate that innocent hard working folks have to suffer as a consequence of extremely poor publisher decisions. I am amazed this has not happened sooner.
I think Microsoft's GAMEPASS is likely a key player and responsible for this mass studio culling of staff, However I still point the blame squarely at the publishers. When you keep biting the hand that feeds you then eventually negative consequences will arise.
If Games are priced fairly and released in good quality then sales will no doubt increase and gamers would be happy. No other industry would get away with this kind of behaviour so why do gamers put up with it?

I am cautiously optimistic. We will supposedly get to see more footage on Friday.

Remember this conspiracy, You will "OWN NOTHING" and "BE HAPPY"
I have gone from a big fan of having digital ownership and a streaming only future to completely boycotting it. The only exception being PC gaming as its simply impossible to buy games physically so I am sticking with Steam and maybe GOG in future if they ever give linux 1st class support.
As for Movies and TV shows, I now own over 400 UHD 4k movies and over 200 Blu rays inc TV box sets so I am good for a while. Its actually cheaper to buy a few movies each month than pay £75 - £100 per month for cable and streaming services. Not to mention that my media cannot just be taken away or altered by an evil entity. I no longer subscribe to any streaming services or purchase digital content after losing over 100 digitally purchased titles.
I also own a PS5 and are collecting select physical games which can be installed and played offline without a day 1 patch.

Thank you,
This article has just saved me £20.00. I have refunded the game as I cannot stand persistent online requirement for single player games. Its just not worth headache.
I need to start paying more attention and stop buying games on a whim for nostalgia sake.

Microsoft - keep your filthy hands off Valve, leak shows MSFT would buy Valve

I would give up gaming in a heartbeat if valve were purchased by Microsoft.
Valve saved PC gaming when retailers gave us the 2 fingers in favour of consoles. At least prior generations had the advantage of physical media allowing game ownership. Now they want to kill the physical games media market also.
I own a Series X which is gathering dust and I would not have purchased it had I known Microsoft would make it impossible to play the game from the disk offline. I chose this option because I have poor internet so my anger was strong when I was forced to download these huge games files despite having the disk in my hand.
So I only buy physical games on PS5 now as SONY at least allows games to be played without updates but the bulk of my purchases are on PC simply because I trust Valve more than the competition to not somehow screw me over.
Microsoft can have Nintendo though as they are as anti consumer as Microsoft so would be a match made in heaven for them. The only problem is they are both just as greedy as each other so negotiating a deal in my view is highly unlikely to ever happen.
