Streets of Rage 4 has a native Linux port, so wonder why they chose that as an example? I have the game but can't remember the load times.

You are paying for the convenience in having a portable monitor that fits in a bag. Probably worth it for people in the market for this.

Not a Razor user anymore due to bad experience, and I personally don't see it as a problem that Razor doesn't make software for Linux. Quite the opposite actually, as it would most likely be some bloated 200MB Electron app that phones home and requires an account to use.
Best thing HW vendors can do is just providing specs/documentation so the community doesn't have to do reverse engineering.

Quoting: iwantlinuxgamesUbuntu LTS releases are every 2. even year, so next LTS is 26.04 - unless Canonical has changed the release schedule?Quoting: StellaI'm confused. Is that the LTS release? Does this mean I can now get Plasma 6 with Kubuntu 24? I tHought it always took longer for things to arrive in the LTS branchApril releases(the XX.04 releases) are usually the LTS releases and receive stable updates and are supported for 5 years. October releases (the XX.10) releases are sorta like mostly stable testing/dev releases which often bring updates to be used in the next April release.
Will anything dethrone the Steam Deck? Probably not

Quoting: ToddLAs long as your Switch games aren't from Nintendo or exclusive to the console, a majority of the releases that the Switch gets also show up on Steam with discounts. My approach is that if the Nintendo Direct shows any games of my interest, I check to see if they appears on Steam and if so, I'd rather go buy it from there once they become available so that I know I can play them on the Steam Deck or PC. This is one of many reasons that I don't support Nintendo anymore and I'm glad to be a Steam Deck owner.I only buy Nintendo games on my Switch, and like you get third party games I'm interested in on Steam. I still love Nintendo games, even though the company becomes more like Disney unfortunately.

I love the Steam Deck and everything about it. Got one from the first batch and it's become my primary gaming device ever since. I wish I could play all my Switch games on it, also for the much better ergonomics.
I actually feel bad for people buying the other handhelds, as it is obvious that they are alpha testers for clueless manufacturers that are just after a quick buck. And they are marketing Windows on them as I it is a feature, ugh...
I'm so happy we have Valve contributing upstream to the wider Linux ecosystem. I trust Valve and their plans for the Steam Deck, compared to other brands hardware, so much that I just bought the Steam Deck OLED, even if I already have the original.

Better late than never. Now the big news will be when they upstream it, and it being accepted in the Linux kernel - and who knows, maybe open source some of their user space software as well!

Just too bad that all these negative responses against Sony by over 100.000 people means nothing, when Sony releases a new Spiderman or whatever "hotness" is in the zeitgeist, and everyone is throwing money at them again.
