Linux continues rising above 3% desktop user share on Statcounter

It will be 6.52% Linux soon, as Chrome OS is going to switch to Wayland, and become almost a GNU/Linux desktop distribution, the most used one.
I think that the moment for the 6.52% that probably will be 7% or more then, will be when Chrome OS will include GNU Steam client, and some tablets laptops and hybrids with AMD APU, as actual handhelds, and perhaps a handheld powered by Chrome OS too.
And if they manage to provide good enough for gaming ARM SoC devices, with a (new) Steam client or the windows one running under wine for ARM, even better.
But I think it will happen in 2025 or if sooner late 2024 if it happens, and I think it will happen.

Valve doesn't need much to make a Steam Deck 2 a huge success

I would change
- joysticks with magnetic ones
- The APU, a RDNA3 one
- Only one model with 1 TB NVMe as they are cheaper now
- Another battery easy to switch, with replacements and an external charger - optional -
I would not change
- Everything else, including the screen
I would add
- Waydroid or any other Android compatibility layer
- eSIM for 5G+ and phone use
- Webcam for broadcasting and video conference
(if it is as a plugin and you can make pictures or selfies just plugin it backwards, better)
Unless a better screen tech saving energy appears.
And let the OLED version for the SD 3 or later or other brands.

YouTube thought my Steam Deck video was 'harmful and dangerous'

SUGGESTION: Make a LBRY / Odysee account, even if it is only for backup, and censored videos.
They let you link your youtube account, and perhaps you receive some more money from them.

User Editorial: Steam Machines & SteamOS after a year in the wild

Steam Machines are not for PC gamers it is a product for console players.
The great deal is "play as well and as cheap as PC players console and PC games"
And with 400 USD, a console price, you can use a xx50 nvidia card or a xx60 and compete with XBOX and PS.
But is this Christmas (and not the 2015's) when 1050 and 1060 are available.
And Vulkan games will be available with next gen GPU, and then is when SMs can shine.
I hope Steam is waiting for Vulkan games to make other Steam Machine approach and sell even if they are Nvidia ARM SoC Machines CHEAP and good enough consoles to casual players and PRICE matters as the Wii or the Chromebooks show.
Last but not least, having cheap nvidia ARM SoCs based consoles with GNU/Linux and vulkan games (new and conversions) running fast enough on them can be the next good move.

Why Linux games often perform worse than on Windows

I read a lot of benchmarks, and people do read them as I do "ceteris paribus"
GNU/Linux PCs are always better with the SAME PRICE, as no game beats a GNU/Linux machine with a + 100 same brand USD GPU that is what MS WOS cost or would cost you to improve your gaming performance.
So while 100 USD (MS WOS cost) hardware can beat MS WOS cost improved performance GNU/Linux is better for gaming.
And about drivers a lot of the work they do to adjust games, improve also the general driver use for any OS, including GNU/Linux. remember Nvidia has a great business as computing GPU in GNU/Linux and good gaming drivers help to do it.

Editorial: I ditched SteamOS in favour of a normal Linux distribution for my gaming

I understand your choice. I tried Steam OS and my Manjaro was better. But I also understand Steam must be working in snap and or flatpack packages for their distro.
Also as you can add even wine's Steam to the Linux Steam client as external program and use it from your couch I do not understand why you ask for programs that already exist and you can use from the big picture menu, even Chrome or Kodi or wine clients for those videos services you want to have at your TV set from the big picture menu. Unless you have not discovered the + button menu to add external programs to the library.
