This looks great but I despise metroidvania games where you have to keep going back and forth to old areas to progress. Is this game really like that or is it another mislabeling?

Happy Tday to those who are celebrating with your friends and family! My house is packed with ppl playing Doom in my basement and fighting/party games on my HTPC. It sounds like the 80's arcades in here.
Man. This sale is awesome. So far I picked up:
Linux Native
Steamplay
Growing up I went from Arcade to Computers. Consoles never interested me much because of how the ports were. I had a few but I would end up selling them or giving them away because the arcade ports of my favorite fighters were always lacking in some way. Most of my experience with consoles were when visiting family.
A lot of fighting games are not available on Linux natively but Steamplay has helped me enjoy Tekken 7, Ultra Street Fighter IV, The King of Fighters XIII Steam Edition and now the two I listed above. I already own just about every other fighter that is offered that is Linux native with the exception of any Early Access games.
It's been an awesome year of gaming. I look forward to more of it.

Quoting: blindcoderKilling the steam link is probably killing game streaming for me once the hardware breaks down. I'm not going to connect a TV to my network. Those things are practically spies, spambots and hackme's all rolled into one.Get a non-smart TV or a monitor. That is what I have in my living room, bedroom and basement. Just a dumb monitor connected to a HTPC for gaming and media watching.

I had a link and sold it. I loved it at the time but I gave up Steam for about year and came back when Steamplay was talked about. I had no issues with it. It worked well. Family and I ended "Mother Russia Bleeds" and "I AM THE HERO" on it.

Quoting: kuhpunktI have the GOG version. You can play offline multiplayer with no problem. Awhile back I was able to edit some of the cfg files and play online for a bit with some 3rd party server that some GOG forums members had.Quoting: Xpanderuhh finally Flatout 2 whitelisted. A game that has been working perfectly in wine since 2008 :DBut the multiplayer servers are down :(

Quoting: CybolicThe Jamestown linux version also requires the editing of a cfg file and the insertion of a steam api 32 bit file. So while it does work it requires some messing about to get it up and running.Quoting: NezchanAm I imagining things or did Jamestown and Reckless Disregard for Gravity already have Linux ports around someplace? Humble, maybe? I'm absolutely certain I've played the latter on Linux at least (and been terrible at it).Jamestown at least had a Linux port but, if I remember correctly, it hasn't been updated since its Humble launch and isn't on Steam.

Picked up Ultra Street Fighter® IV from Fanatical. It's been an awesome experience playing this via Steamplay on all of my rigs. It even runs on my Dell Latitude E6420 which is amazing!
My kids have really like SF. Skullgirls - YES! The King of Fighters - YES! Now they are loving this one and it's been awesome to play against them.
