The arabian-themed cyberpunk rogue-lite FPS '1001st Hyper Tower' is out, not running well on Linux

Unlike Prodeus retro-style FPS reviewed earlier today, this does not look good.

Prodeus is another epic looking retro inspired shooter that will be coming to Linux

For a retro-style game, I think it looks very good indeed. They hint that the game is very customisable in their developer chat section, and I'd probably dial-down the amount of blood if I was playing.

Steel Rats, the Unreal Engine powered 2.5D motorbike combat action game is now out for Linux using Vulkan

Quoting: ShmerlSteel Rats is now 90% off on GOG...
Indeed. I think I'll grab it and fingers-crossed for the Linux version being put on the GOG store.

Chasm, the adventure platformer from Bit Kid just had a big update giving more variety

I consider myself somewhat conscientious when it comes to writing Steam reviews. I don't write reviews for the majority of titles I play, but the special few tend to get a decent review. These are usually favourite titles, although there might be times when a game has been so bad that I've reviewed it negatively. Statistically speaking, approx 11 reviews per 200 games played = 5.5%. Noting that Chasm's 500 reviews out of 7000 kickstarters is 7.1%.

Gloomhaven, the dungeon-crawling adaptation of the board game should see Linux support at release

I'm liking the art style and the new races, i.e. not all focussed on the usual elves, dwarves, orcs. At this early stage, hard to see how the game will play. From it being based on a board game and hexagonal floor tiles, I'd say it'll be turn-based, and probably not too different from Warhammer Quest, Chaos Reborn, Tales from Candlekeep.

Tactical action game 'Gunslugs:Rogue Tactics' coming to Linux from Orangepixel and it looks awesome

I'm liking the look of the game play on this. My first thought is the similarity to Broforce game (which I love). But then, this title allows you to perform all sorts of sneaky and stealth-based attacks on the enemies, changing weapons (e.g. choosing to use grenades for maximum impact), throwing bricks to draw guards' attention elsewhere, silent attack behind one enemy so that other guards aren't alerted. As such, using strategy can get you further in the game rather than just pure gun-play/joystick skills.

I guess I'm going to have to revisit their earlier titles at some point (Gunslugs and Gunslugs II) where I already own the first one but haven't played much of it.

Dicey Dungeons, the unique in-development roguelike from Terry Cavanagh has a major update

One gave in to temptation, aware from playing on the free web-browser-based early version of the game that I like it. Noting that I did not (yet) receive a Steam key, but happy enough to wait until full release for that. Bearing in mind that Slay The Spire doubled in price on its Full Release, I thought I would take advantage of Dicey Dungeons' early deal.

The Humble Indie Bundle 20 is now officially live!

Very happy to get the lowest tier of the bundle - I didn't have any of those games and both Tangledeep and Among The Sleep were titles I wanted (Yey!)

However, in the higher tiers, I had all the games except Dream Daddy Sim, which isn't really something I would have played. Pretty much a perfect bundle for me then ;)

A look at what hot Linux gaming deals you can find this weekend

Feel this is a good place to quickly mention a few things about the Humble Monthly Subscription bundles:

I'm something of a regular when it comes to buying the Humble Monthly, and literally just pause it whenever the Early Reveals don't appeal to me (Typically when there are no Linux titles in the early reveals). The last Monthly I bought was the previous one, which included Cultist Simulator, which was a wishlist title for me. I'm certainly tempted with the next one which includes Linux game Northgard.

There is additional motivation for me to buy the bundles even when the Linux titles are a bit lacking, owing to Valve's Steam Play / Proton: It would particularly irritate me if I bought a Monthly and then once the Late Reveals were shown, then there was a distinct lack of Linux titles. Now, this isn't so much of a problem, as a decent amount of them will just work fine on Linux thanks to Proton.

In the last Humble Monthly bundle, 8 games total - 3 games were native Linux (1 in early reveal), the remainder for Windows (and at least 50% of them should definitely work on Linux with Proton). Then as an additional benefit, 4 of the games were DRM-Free Downloads (2 on Linux) and a downloadable soundtrack. Another pleasing thing was the fact that (despite my huge existing game collection) I didn't own any of the titles in the bundle (Hurray!). Access to the Humble Trove, containing masses of DRM-Free Download Games of which many are Linux titles is the icing on the cake.
