Forza Horizon 6 heads to Japan and will release on Steam

Presumably there's no hope in hell of me getting Forza 4 to run on Linux if I didn't buy it before it's steam removal?

I can get a key for it still but it's Microsoft store only redeemable? No chance of getting that to play nice with Linux is there?

Valve have confirmed Linux support for their Valve Index VR headset, pre-orders on May 1st

Sounds good that we're getting some VR gear to play with but the purchase straight from Valve thing worries me. I originally brought my Steam Controller direct from them when it was on sale. Big mistake... After two and a half months trying to pin down when it would be shipped I finally gave up and ordered from a shop in UK. Turned up next day.

I received no help whatsoever from Valve and they wouldn't respond to any questions outside of generic we're looking into it replies.

I hope this VR kit is as revolutionary as the Steam Controller. It is brilliant with all the subtle changes you can apply to it. I'm was a die hard keyboard and mouse player but more often than not I'm now using my Linux games box on the main room TV rather than the PC.

Would like to think VR can also sway me the same way.

What games do you want ported to Linux? Feral Interactive want to know again

Exile from 1988 on the BBC Micro! :P

In terms of size, features, physics engine and complexity compared to hardware it's run on its still the greatest, efficiently coded and playable computer game ever made.

Join the fun on our new server for Rust

Rust updated today and I can no longer connect to the GOL server. It returns the error 'Wrong Connection Protocol - server update required'

The survival game 'Rust' has come a long way, I've completely changed my mind about it

After giving it a few hours I could get into this.

Think I still need some guidance on best strategy to get started though - It took me a very long time to realise you could alter the blueprints to make different building items... I may have spent a long, long while wandering around looking for other blueprints for walls and roofs...

Mind you last attempt on the GOL server was a lot better - I managed to almost finish a half built house I came across and nicked from someone else (Sorry). Found my first other player asleep and nicked most of his stuff (sorry Sinister) and was looking for stones to upgrade my new seaside abode when a damn helicopter shot me. Bit unsporting of the old chap.

I'm still unsure about etiquette and how to proceed / consequences. If i'm on GOL server am i allowed to nick stuff I find or is it not the done thing? I found a salvage hammer and other stashes etc. Were they there for a reason and to help new folk? Do other items respawn at all? For example if I destroy every barrel I come across and take every hemp plant are they limited or do more appear? What happens to all the stuff I had when I die? Is it dropped where I fell to be collected by others or does it simply disappear??

Guess I'm old fashioned and just prefer single player or pve games. My experience of PvP games always leaves me cold. Up against people that seem to have all the time in the world to play all day long without giving a balanced experience to let a noob into the game always puts me off.

Having said that just spent an hour running around a server without any other players to get a feel for the game and it was better than expected. The survival aspect wasn't too rushed and ott like some games. i didn't feel I was about to die immediately just because I hadn't killed, skinned and eaten a rabid giraffe with a knife i had to make from coconuts within the first minute, before I even worked out the movement keys.

Managed to craft a few walls, clothe my player, get a supply drop and gun from a plane and have a nice sleep in a lighthouse! Something tells me though when I try again on a full server I'll get my arse kicked before I can blink.

Linux overall market-share percentage falls on Steam in October

I haven't been asked to complete one of these hardware surveys since about 2004. I know it was around then as I was on windows at time and that's when I dropped it completely for Linux.

Since then I've accessed steam on numerous machines and now regularly use a desktop and a HTPC without being asked. Have I somehow opted out somewhere along the line?
