Quoting: RafiLinuxLong loading on STEAM or GOG version? I've had no issues with loading.
Steam. At the Steam forums other Linux users are mentioning loading issues too.
Wait, the GOG version lacks the online mode?

Quoting: cusa123What makes me angry about valve is that it is not available worldwide. I want to buy one in my country but it doesn't arrive or there isn't one.
I want to go to linux!
You must be confusing SteamVR with Valve Index.

I've beaten the whole game, it works fine except for too long loading. I tried local co-op with two gamepads, it works too.

Quoting: Purple Library GuyI've gotten the impression that for most distros, when they don't officially support a DE but the community spins it up, it tends to be a bit . . . rough around the edges.
Why? I've tried Ubuntu (server install) + Cinnamon, and it worked fine. And LXQt when Lubuntu still had LXDE. There were problems with Cinnamon PPA not being maintained in time for the newest Ubuntu releases, but in case of Manjaro, this shouldn't be a thing. Anyway, you can try a VM first.

Quoting: Purple Library GuySounds very good. I'd probably try it if there was a Mate version.

AMD announces the Ryzen 3 3100 and Ryzen 3 3300X budget processors and a new B550 chipset

Quoting: tommystig21Here in italy the R5 is still around €250 and the 3700X is €350 (directly from Amazon Prime)
My brother bought an R5 2600 for about $120-130 on AliExpress (do people use it in Italy?) last autumn, there are also R7 2700 available for $150, DDR4-3200 16GB RAM modules for $75, mobos and other hardware too.

I'd say, +10% is a significant amount of growth. Maybe much bigger price differences between CPUs make it unworthy, but at least it shows that games actually do use multithreading. Doubling cores doesn't mean doubling the performance.
Quoting: MohandevirIt seems to be a per game thing.
Sure, but with new 8C16T consoles coming, I believe all AAA games are going to be multithreaded, using 16 threads efficiently. For people who want to build a gaming computer without the need to upgrade it in the next few years, I would recommend a Ryzen 7 or at least six-core Ryzen 5.

Witcher 3 - DX11 - Scaling
What about games those aren't 5 years old?

Ryzen 5 2600 is better but has the same price.
Quoting: Guestmost games, at least on Linux, don't really use more than 4 cores
I would say the opposite. The newest games I've played recently seem to be very good at multi-threading - Shadow of the TR, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein 2, Resident Evil 3...

What have you been playing recently? Come tell us what you think about it

Quoting: RafiLinuxAs far as the loading, do you mean the DOS window thing? I think that is the only loading issue I have but I think it's on purpose to make the game feel older.
The devs said, the whole game is being loaded into the memory at starting to make any in-game loading instant.
I think they just should have used Darkplaces instead of Unity...
