Quoting: stephenseiber420I must say I get competition is great but I hate having my games split between multiple apps library. got command and conquer, battle field 4, and sim city with EA. wow, diablo 3 and star craft 2 with battlenet, witcher 3 with gog and 300 games on steam. Is it too difficult to click another icon to launch a game? Some strange people even buy game consoles - big expensive devices intended only for playing few games. They use accounts there too and even stick into those consoles weird round things for some DRM-related reason (my grandfather says they are called 'deesck' or something and were used on PCs somehow when he was a boy.)
Quoting: stephenseiber420WE need a program to link all these programs together to give one gaming library.Lutris? "Games" in the application menu?

Quoting: qptain NemoI don't understand the connection some people make between reducing cuts for people making Linux ports and developers making bad ports as the result.Today Gaben decides to pay extra for having Linux ports, and devs make them. Tomorrow he decides to stop it, so devs abandon Linux. But what about us, humble Linux gamers? Our opinion doesn't matter in this case.

Gaben supports Linux not because he loves Linux, but for spreading Steam and having no depend on a dominating company (Microsoft and Windows). You know, the same reason Epic Games Store was created.

Quoting: cbonesI don't think it's a good idea. Developers should support Linux for getting profit from Linux gamers who buy their games, not for some strange preferences. If they start to release broken Linux ports, how this would help Linux gaming? It would be even worse than no Linux version at all, because it makes impossible to use Proton for a game. Also, isn't Proton made for games which don't and won't have Linux ports?Simply put: you should lower your take by 1-2% for anyone that puts up a game on steam with an officially supported Linux version.Yes, yes, yes. I have been saying this (admittedly, to myself) for a while now. If Valve really wanted to push Linux, they would take a smaller cut from developers that release native games for us.

Quoting: liamdaweThe drone system is boring? What makes you say that? It makes the gameplay incredibly dynamic.I haven't played any BR games, but I expected that players must always be on the run, searching for better stuff and weapons. Here, you just collect money, order lame pistols and SMGs, sit and wait for a drone. Lack of ammo doesn't sound appealing too. I was spectating a couple of matches after I died, and the remaining two players just did nothing but sitting on the same spot and looking at their tablets until the shrinking area forces them to move.
Quoting: GuestI would also add that the gameplay of CS is not outdated by any means. Many people only switched to GO because Valve was clear they were trying to model 1.6 gameplay with a graphics makeover.I played CS:GO since it was in beta (not much though), and at first it was indeed just CS: Source but with newer textures. It had nothing new, so people didn't want to play it. Then Gaben added all those xXtr3m3 weapons skins, and CS:GO got huge popularity among the schoolchildren who liked showing their classmates how cool their acid green M4 looks like. But the gameplay was always the same as in year 2000. Look at any popular online shooter of 2012, when CS:GO was released. You started a round in Battlefield 3 or Call of Duty: Whatever-game-it-was-in-2012, and instantly got into a wild action with airstrikes, helicopters, customizable weapons, etc. Different genres, I know, but still. Time passes, games evolve, Valve games don't. Why don't Valve make a completely new modern game instead of modding CS:GO?

Quoting: devnull15 years ago I don't believe there was a game any where close to BR nor current CS.But CS:GO is the same as CS 1.6 in terms of gameplay, just with added lootboxes. 15 years ago I played CS 1.6 on 16x16 players maps, and that wasn't a lagfest. And there was Battlefield 1942 for 64 players.

It works if I unplug my Logitech F710 receiver (Steam Controller can still be plugged in).
Anyway, this mode sucks. Runs at 27-50 fps, 16 people only, the drone system is boring, and the outdated gameplay of Counter-Strike doesn't fit to battle royale.
