Wait, does Skyrim VR on Oculus Rift (or equivalent) and Ubuntu work?!

What are you playing on Linux this weekend and what do you think about it?

I played League of Legends [External Link] (Lutris' installer). Finally found a champion (Nasus) that I can do OK with, I do love last-hitting champions with a fed Q heheheh...

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoI don't like the UI of Ubuntu.18.04..
Is Gnome fallback available for it?
Haven't tried it myself but what happens if you run `sudo apt install gnome-flashback`, does that give you a GNOME Flashback session on GDM (the settings cog in the bottom-right as you log in) to log into after you reboot?

You might also want to try Ubuntu MATE [External Link].

I love DRM free games! and, well, games in general tbh!
I'm on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS and it's got some bugs to iron out still but generally it's OK and, despite some inconsistencies, I'm very much enjoying the Communitheme! :D

snap install communitheme

(optionally use `--edge`) then log out and log into the Ubuntu with Communitheme snap (with Wayland) session!

Heh I never really got into Battle for Wesnoth, maybe I should give it another go sometime (if I ever get the time)

Looks impressive! Perhaps a game to contend with the FOSS greats (0AD, Xonotic, SuperTuxKart, maybe Teeworlds)?

What have you been playing and what do you think?

I don't have much time for games atm but when I do play it's usually
- Pokemon Showdown [External Link] (Pokemon battle simulator in the web browser) [GitHub [External Link]]
- Pokemon Silver (3DS Virtual Console)

I could also be playing some AoE II HD (Wine), Pokemon Trading Card Game Online (Wine), and Star Wars Battlefront II (classic; Wine - so glad they brought back the online servers!! Doesn't matter what happens with the new SWBII, this will probably remain the best game of all time) but in trying to apply a Wine patch to get SWBII multiplayer to work on Wine, I had to remove all my other Wine installs and didn't even succeed in building a patched Wine so yeah...and I don't want to waste time on playing those games anyway...

You can get that to work in Wine too! The original AoE II is easy enough with PlayOnLinux (I'm sure you can do it with vanilla Wine too if you check AppDB). AoE II HD also works though you'll need to rename Launcher.exe to Launcher.exe.bak and AoK.exe to Launcher.exe. After that it works. For multiplayer to work, you'll have to reinstall the game (via the Steam in that Wineprefix) each time it's patched and rename the launcher each time you reinstall. Also I find that I can't Alt+Tab mid-game without the game uncontrollably scrolling.

They've also now added in LAN support to the PC version, so you can gather your friends together for your own tournaments!
Wow! What games support LAN these days (maybe more than I think, I don't play as widely as other people on this site, probably)?! That's pretty amazing! :D So with this game you can have actual LAN parties! :O

Quoting: GuestYep, 99% of the market trumps the 1%.
It's 3% not 1%!
It's something like 1-2% still, looking at the Wikimedia stats [External Link] and ignoring the mobile OS's (with the mobile OS's included in the total that the %s are calculated against it's 0.3% non-Ubuntu desktop Linux, 0.2% Ubuntu, 0.4% Chrome OS).
