Quoting: TumatauengaThe demo works flawlessly in Proton. Tested it for a few hours, didn't encounter an issues at all. I'm glad they've chosen to make it native to Linux though. One thing that slightly disappointed me was hearing how some devs just gave up on the Linux version and decided to let it use Proton instead.Well quite frankly its their loss there are now more and more dev teams willing to put in the effort our money will just go to them instead. Pushing for quality always pays off in the long run. So let's just reward those that are putting in the effort.

Quoting: thelimeydragonThere is a demo of the game not sure how well it runs in Proton. Did a quick test. launches fine.If they still rely on Unity and didn't change the plugins they use, the beta for Beholder 2 should be running just fine indeed.

Beholder devs and the devs of Orwell are some very kind folks and are friends and both their games sold fairly well on Linux though so I'm surprised to hear they weren't sure about putting the sequel on Linux.
Well at least good news it will not only release on Linux but will be released the same day than other OS...
We can't understate how important that is.

Quoting: GuestNot comparable. A few years ago the gpu market was more down to earth. These last 2-3 years gpu prices are ridiculously inflated due to ram prices, cryptomining, China growth, and newer processes being more difficult. It is RIDICULOUS to demand a 970 as a MINIMUM requirement. That card is more than midrange, it is borderline high range. At least from a price standpoint, if you are buying new. It is beyond retarded to demand such a strong pc as a MINIMUM requirement, because your potential market shrinks to a tiny percentage of PC users...Again it's indeed generally poorly optimized at first but they improve optimization over time. Even X-Rebirth performs way better now then it used to perform back then. Again the important part of my message was that Egosoft still maintains and continues to support their game waaay past the first few months of release.
Also, these are the MINIMUM requirements. No game runs properly on MININUM, ever. You need at least the recommended to have a passable experience with a game. And judging by Egosoft's history of terribly unoptimized games, i am not hopeful. As for the graphics of the game, they are nothing special. Space graphics are easier to look amazing anyway.
The Humble 'Female Protagonist Sale' is live, with some awesome Linux games

Especially a sale with lot of fairly qualitative titles in it.
Heck if it was Linux Native I'd buy Okami for no less than the fifth time.

Quoting: GuppyIt getting really tiresome to see the spread of the trend of only being allowed to hold an opinion as long as it the exact same as the most "oppressed" person in the room and any deviation from it means your going to be publicly crucified. You do an awful lot of talking and seems to be awfully healthy for a freshly publicly crucified human ...

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen - Tactical Legacy Pack announced, bridges the gap between XCOM and XCOM 2

Quoting: 14Yes, that's what I meant. Thanks. See, I love Fire Emblem games but base building in XCOM was not a fun part of the strategy for me.Yeah if you buy the first expansion War of the chosen (the map pack in this article is for owners of the expansion) then the game has mutators to make the base game and its expansion incredibly forgiving with the base building. Also X-COM 2 + Expansion enjoys a fair share of other gameplay improvements.

Quoting: 14Is XCOM 2 decently better than XCOM? I mostly liked the original, but not enough to lose a few hours of play so that I could load a save from several hours back in order to fix some bad decisions. If you have the first DLC there is a mutator that allows for more forgiving RNG , and for more forgiving mission unlocks RNG in regards of how poorly you'll plan your base construction and developement. So if that's what you meant and are after yeah X-COM 2 + DLC is a clear bump in a more welcoming experience to the new comer.

Humble Bundle : "Here is a bouquet of deals on games featuring a female protagonist have fun"
Most dudes in the comment section of that article : "Oh my god stop oppressing me the cis male who's so much not represented in games" ...
Do you start to see why your reaction contributes to the problem and to the anger at large.
It may not be how you want it to sound but that's INEVITABLY how it sounds ...

Now don't get me wrong I'd loooove for Feral to lay hands on Yakuza 0 and Kiwam's source code. Because oh my god the amount of games we would be able to enjoy with that...
But I also know that devil a bit intimately and I know all too well that asking Feral right away will probably not be the first approach attempted ;)

Quoting: LeerdeckDon't say that. Don't destroy my little Yakuza 0 Linux port dream. :S:Yakuza is much more receiving the "proton white listing" treatment right now. Again it's Sega Japan baby steps is what's gonna come out of Sega Japan. ;)
