Beholder devs and the devs of Orwell are some very kind folks and are friends and both their games sold fairly well on Linux though so I'm surprised to hear they weren't sure about putting the sequel on Linux.

Well at least good news it will not only release on Linux but will be released the same day than other OS...

We can't understate how important that is.

Also, these are the MINIMUM requirements. No game runs properly on MININUM, ever. You need at least the recommended to have a passable experience with a game. And judging by Egosoft's history of terribly unoptimized games, i am not hopeful. As for the graphics of the game, they are nothing special. Space graphics are easier to look amazing anyway.

Again it's indeed generally poorly optimized at first but they improve optimization over time. Even X-Rebirth performs way better now then it used to perform back then. Again the important part of my message was that Egosoft still maintains and continues to support their game waaay past the first few months of release.

Yeah if you buy the first expansion War of the chosen (the map pack in this article is for owners of the expansion) then the game has mutators to make the base game and its expansion incredibly forgiving with the base building. Also X-COM 2 + Expansion enjoys a fair share of other gameplay improvements.

If you have the first DLC there is a mutator that allows for more forgiving RNG , and for more forgiving mission unlocks RNG in regards of how poorly you'll plan your base construction and developement. So if that's what you meant and are after yeah X-COM 2 + DLC is a clear bump in a more welcoming experience to the new comer.

Yakuza is much more receiving the "proton white listing" treatment right now. Again it's Sega Japan baby steps is what's gonna come out of Sega Japan. ;)

Now don't get me wrong I'd loooove for Feral to lay hands on Yakuza 0 and Kiwam's source code. Because oh my god the amount of games we would be able to enjoy with that...

But I also know that devil a bit intimately and I know all too well that asking Feral right away will probably not be the first approach attempted ;)
