Classic Roguelike 'ADOM' is getting a revamp named Ultimate ADOM

Quoting: g000hDo you guys play Pixel Dungeon [External Link] ? I used to play it all the time on Android phone or tablet, but they changed it to include equipment deterioration, and it was a step too far for me. After that change, I was no longer so keen on it. As a rogue-like, I played it hundreds of times, but only got to the end about 8 times.

EDIT:

You can also grab Pixel Dungeon (works on Linux) from itch.io HERE [External Link] as a .jar file. Then run it via Terminal with "java -jar desktop.jar"

Plus, the itch.io version appears to be the earlier one, before item deterioration was implemented :)
I have that on my Phone.
Two versions of Retro Pixel Dungeon.
I don't have to worry about weapon degradation as I die well before any of it happens.
Should give you any idea how "good" I am at roguelikes :P

Heh . Neat

I liked Theme Hospital despite never being any good at it.
Wondering how this shapes up.

Quoting: Purple Library GuySeems to me that to make China playable at all you'd have to rather lowball the problems China had at the time. It's not just that the big bosses were venal, corrupt bandits--it was venal, corrupt bandits all the way down, just a bunch of vultures squabbling over a carcass. Even if you'd put a brilliant, incorruptible administrator in the place of say Chiang Kai-Shek, he would have just ended up shouting silently into the storm, orders and reforms reaching no further than his palace while everyone continued graft as usual. If anything started threatening to make a difference, someone would kill him.
I'd argue that at that point, the only thing that could have saved China was just what ended up doing so--a broad-based popular revolution taking power from below and sweeping aside the whole rotten bunch. Not necessarily a Communist revolution in specific, but it would have to be some cause the lower classes would have reason to rally round.
Please tell me you write a history blog. :)

Looking forward to what they do with the revamp.
This thing is , if nothing , a project of passion.

I bought this before the Linux version was out hoping to play it via the AGS port in AUR or via wine.
Now I don't have to :)

Heh.
Never pre-order !
But I will pick this one up.
The Asian nations seemed fairly bland with just India getting a focus tree.
And I always did want to play a democratic Germany to see if I could pull it off. I could never help myself to attack one of those pesky allied nations near me. Sometimes England just initiated the war itself.

This War of Mine gets first installment in series of story-driven DLC

Interesting direction to go with the gameplay.
I do like a good narrative.

Hmm , wondering if we have any German users who might know this btf GmbH firm.
If they were serious with previous projects.
Thinking to try my luck on the lowest tier that gives a game (25$)

I played a bit of Die Totenmaske and it was a very strange experience

Is it confirmed for Linux though ?
The trailer only shows Windows and Apple logos and can't find any concrete info on their site.
