Installation 01, the Halo fan-game that will support Linux has a new trailer

I've heard of cake shops in the US being shut down under copyright for drawing Disney characters on cakes.
Not sure how strong those rules are and what lawyers can and cannot do with them.
Would be really curios if we had a lawyer in our community.
EDIT:
Also I think a better Idea would have been to do the engine and offer the assets as separate downloads.
That way at least the engine survives even if assets do not.

Quoting: Ads20000That's the problem.Quoting: razing32This looks too much like Halo.Well they reckon it's fine under this: http://www.xbox.com/en-us/developers/rules [External Link]
Wonder what MS and their lawyers will do.
Normally I wouldn't think it would work but those rules seem pretty generous for noncommercial use! Perhaps Microsoft didn't have in mind people making entire good-quality free games out of it but can you see anything specific in those rules preventing Installation 01 from doing what they're doing? I don't think they're doing reverse engineering, for example, just recreating?

You need the ISPs in the path to agree on QOS.
Without it your traffic does not get priority and you get lag.

Quoting: EnverexIt's not just bandwidth.Quoting: liamdaweThat's not really the same. Music/TV/Movies aren't sensitive to latency, they just need to be streamed from a server, literally any server. Games on the other hand are incredibly sensitive to latency and also need serious hardware to run well. Not to mention needing so much bandwidth to stream at an acceptable quality and framerate.Quoting: bubexelResume: you rent a computer with windows to play with latency....I bet people said similair stuff about music/tv/movie streaming, now they're massively popular.
So stupid...

Love the art style.
The Last Door was a good point and click but dear god did it need more pixels.
Hope the control is as smooth as in the trailer and I also hope it doesn't get delayed for Linux.

Quoting: ison111I just realized I'm going to need a new FPS limiter for Vulkan since the "libstrangle" library I was using to cap my FPS in this game is only for OpenGL.Out of curiosity why do you need an FPS limiter ?
Just when I finally found a solution to a problem that plagued me for years, now the solution is becoming obsolete. What a life.

Salt and Sanctury, an in-depth review

If there are too many entities on the screen , say player , player missiles enemies and their missiles , I would have a hard time figuring out what the heck is going on and where i am and what I am doing.
If i died as a result of that I would have been VERY frustrated.
I will give it a shot on sale though.

Some Steam reviews have laughably called out Salt and Sanctuaries graphics as “muddy”.I can agree steam comments can be stupid , ironic or ironically stupid sometimes but in this case I agree.
