Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III releasing for Linux on June 8th

I also like to spin up a quick skirmish when I have no idea what to play and duke it out with a few bots.
Played only a few times with my friends so no big loss for me if I don't have multi.

Quoting: MintedGamerAgree here. I mostly played DoW2 for the lore/story - simple as it was (I like war 40k lore and those damnable figurines are expensive as if made of gold).Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiT.. but better have no port at all than a only partly functioning one..I wholeheartedly disagree dude, I've been hoping for a Linux version since it was first announced. People can still enjoy the single player campaign and multiplayer with Linux and Mac, it's not like the lobbies will be empty. I do see your point that's its a shame we can't join matches with our Windows friends, but no reason not to release the game.

Different Os-es calculate things differently and the deterministic game engine would throw a "out of sync" immediately.
If the new engine is the same as the old one there is NOTHING Feral can do. It is relic and the engine's fault.
They can give you multi , you will connect and get immediately dropped. Do you want that ?

Quoting: cRaZy-bisCuiTEven though this is a new engine no cross platform multiplayer? Are you joking Feral? Hold of buying their multilayer games until that attitude is fixed!!!They already explained it in previous posts.
Don't split the community again and again and again Feral! That really sucks! Sorry!
@Feral Interactive: Will the multiplayer being fixed this time any time soon?

Can we buy this directly from Feral when they release it ?
Want them to have a cut.
Between this and Sudden Strike 3 - seems there will be no RTS drought for me this summer.

Looks like the Linux version of POSTAL Redux is being worked on

My friends play Gta 5. Not my style but I am not holding up hope for a linux port.
I am glad I finished the Witcher 3 and the Skyrim Enderal mod before I switched. Those two would have kept me on Win. (In honesty i do have a laptop I could use)
Kinda sad Banished and Arma 2 never made it to Linux.
Never tried Raft so not sure what to say there.

Quoting: harshbarjI can understand that.Quoting: razing32Space engineersQuoting: harshbarjI was a major fan of Postal 2. Will have to give Postal Redux a look when it comes out. 2 was great and a joyfully twisted game. I hope that Redux is also just as sick! Anymore I try to buy Linux compatible games, even when buying for my windows box, hoping for the day when I can delete that last windows partition. A person can dream. What do you still play Win only ? Just curios.
Empyrion (devs have promised a linux verson one day)
GTA V
Saints Row the third (Linux multiplayer does not work with windows multiplayer clients)
arma 2 dayz
Banished (A linux port was talked about, but not sure if it will happen)
Raft
Also Minecraft modpacks are a pain to get working on linux.
These are all developer issues, and not linux issues. Sad part was when the developer of raft pulled Linux support.

There's another 'Life is Strange' on the way
