As a hint, the title of the developer's homepage is "Billy Goat Entertainment Ltd | satirical animation, not for the sheepish". However, I can understand why someone would not be able to enjoy satire on a sensitive topic -- some people find comedy helps them cope better, but others might find it too painful.

Actually some don't even care about that last point...

You mean game developers should be superior to about every other software team in the world, and put out such wonderful stuff that it works on every combination of hardware and drivers someone might throw at it? Software so wonderful it doesn't need user support is a nice goal, but not likely to happen outside very restricted circumstances. Teams that take the goal too seriously are more likely to scrap desktop development, including Linux, and pick whatever console they think is best quality for development...

Yup there seemed to be a lot of people who jumped on board thinking that kickstarter was fundamentally a pre-order system with early-adopter discounts and firm deadlines, and it's just as well that bubble has burst. Others with more realistic opinions of crowdfunding risks and schedule uncertainties have stayed on for the long-run, though even those backers may have gotten over-enthusiastic in pledge amounts last year and have had to cut down somewhat until the economy in general improves.
