Great news for Linux gaming. While native apps would be ideal, this at least gives people options. If not for one game not working in wine (or having a native Linux version) I would have removed windows from my primary rig years ago. For now I simply have to be happy running a Linux only laptop and hope a Linux only desktop is on the horizon.
GTA-inspired game 'Riskers' could see a Linux version with enough support

The dev claims [External Link] a launch price of $7.50 usd. Might be worth picking up at that price even on the hope of a Linux version.

If this actually comes out for Linux, and VR for Linux turns out to be stable, I may have to put myself in debt and get a headset. I remember trying VR in the late 90's. I only had 15 minutes in the demo but it was a fun experience, even with the limited environment and choppy frame rates. The thought of being able to play an immersive 3d game like that would be great.

So far I have been impressed with unity for Linux. I have been using it from the first Linux release. It has worked just as well as the windows version and I have yet to have a crash even after hours of work. Though I have yet to actually compile a game, so that may still be an issue. Sadly I don't have an example to show as I am still getting used to the whole oop thing and am still trying to get the basics working, like health and inventory before moving on to a playable game.
Though don't take this post the wrong way, I am in no way a pro developer. I mostly tinker and hope one day to release an actual full game. Most of my programming experience was in the dos days on quickbasic 4.5. To have had unity back in those days would have been NICE! See kiddies when I was young you had to code your own engines! :P

Looks a bit like towns. Let's hope it fairs better than that game, which was abandoned by it's developers. Shame as it looked to be a great game. This game looks to be one to watch.

Sadly it will be atari in name only. In much the same way Schwinn bicycles of today share no link to the old Schwinn of the 70's on back. But here's hoping it's actually going to be a good product. Would be nice to see another product with Linux see widespread use, irrespective of who makes it.

Wish I could get a refund on the game now. I bought it when he was talking about making a Linux port a long time ago. Guess from now on I no longer support games till they deliver on their promises.

Depends on the price. Right now at $60, NO!! I'll wait for a sale when I can pick it up for $10-$15 or less.
Looks like the RPG 'GOKEN' really will be coming to Linux, after user requests

Interesting looking game. Kinda reminds me of the early Zelda games, though with better graphics. May have to pick this up if they actually do a Linux release. Just wish it was not an EA game. Been burned so many times with those. Though this is the first EA title I have seen from japan. Could be worth the risk.
Better late than never, GOG now has the Linux version of Dust: An Elysian Tail

Great game and works well in Linux. I have played this on anything from fairly high end dedicated cards down to integrated and all work fine. It's one of those games that's great to pick up when you have a few minutes to kill, or even an entire evening. Great to see GOG picking it up, however I don't see them making many sales. Steam has had it on sale for years and at a very low price at times. But more choice is always good.
