An explanation of what Mesa is and what graphics cards use it

I certainly will build AMD hardware into my next rig. Though I have to keep in mind that I won't get all performance out of the hardware on Linux (in contrast to my current Intel/Nvidia setup). Still I prefer the way AMD is going and I like to support it. As I mostly play CS:GO, Civilization and XCOM, it's currently no big deal for me to get about 80% of the graphics performance compared to a Windows setup.

Quoting: jaguaris it time to go AMD route for our next graphic card? (almost same perf than nvidia closed + open source driver)Generally speaking, of course it is possible to run latest AAA games like Deus Ex Mankind with amdgpu/radeonsi. However, for several reasons, you have a more stable experience with Nvidia hardware and their closed-source driver at the moment (but this may differ in future).
is it possible to run the latest AAA with the open source driver?

Quoting: kshadeI also have problems with Alt-Tab on XFCE. As a workaround to successfully switch out of the game, I assigned a "Show Desktop" shortcut (Settings Manager > Window Manager > Keyboard).Quoting: liamdaweI'm using XFCE, not issues with anything else.Quoting: kshadeGood port? it doesn't have borderless window fullscreen (always comes back up automatically and misaligned when you tab out) and crashes once or twice before it actually loads a game.Sounds like an issue with your WM, never had that issue.

I'm super excited about what Croteam does. I love the Serious Sam series since the good old LAN party times. I own most of their games and especially TTP is a masterpiece in my opinion.
Keep up the great work Croteam, you really deserve my respect and so my money!

I really hope, a release is coming soon as I made the mistake to buy the game a year ago, when it was announced to be released on Linux.
Still I trust the developer. After this news, I'm looking forward again to play this game in the near future.

I have bought the retail version of this game, but didn't activate the key yet.
Will this count as a "Linux buy" once I activate it on Feb 9th?
