I think it's Clair Obscur.

Today, I (accidentally) learned that you can triple-click on text-based URLs and then right-click on them to "Open Link in new tab", which takes the pain out of not having clickable links anymore!

EDIT: although I've just noticed that quoted links become clickable again?

Denuvo will lock you out of games on Linux, SteamOS, Steam Deck if you keep changing Proton versions

While this is still anecdotal, I heard people complain specifically about performance gains from using versions without denuvo on specific games
Yeah, pirated copies have been shown to have slightly higher framerates. There was also the Village debacle which caused massive stuttering and fps dips, but Denuvo claimed that it had been implemented incorrectly. Whatever.

I don't boycott Denuvo-encumbered games because of framerates or inconvenience. I boycott those games for two reasons:
1. The money used to buy Denuvo is astronomical and could have gone on Developer salaries, or Q&A work instead.
2. The publisher is treating me, their customer, like a criminal that can't be trusted.

That second point is the main reason. Publishers who choose Denuvo are basically saying "we don't trust our customers". Meanwhile, the people who pirate the game (once it's cracked) HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE. When a grey-market item is better than the paid-for experience, you know exactly what the seller thinks of you. You're scum, to them.

And so they're scum, to me.

Some games I'd have bought if the publisher didn't treat their paying customers like criminals and insist on putting Denuvo on them:

DeathLoop
HI-FI Rush
Strange Brigade
Atomic Heart
Mirror's Edge: Catalyst
Star Wars Outlaws
Black Myth Wukong
Detroit Become Human

There's a handful of others, no doubt. I use this curator to steer clear of Denuvo titles:

Mesa 25.0.6 released with AMD GPU fixes for DOOM: The Dark Ages on Linux

What about Nvidia? Is it good?
The Doom issues only affected AMD cards, as per the linked article.

I'm really enjoying this. The 100% refund is very helpful in the context of "replay last wave on fail" - it's so refreshing to not have to replay 20-25 minutes of gameplay just to get to the point of failure. Awesome.

And yet... it's still challenging!

I also like the split between monsters who zero straight in on your fabricator, while others will simply attack the nearest tower (or any tower on fertile ground). It keeps you on your toes.

The tower restriction (3 towers initially, but you unlock a larger roster over time) is super cool too. Strategy is all-important.

Great game. I need to get a review in on Steam. I follow the Dev on BSky, and he was overjoyed when his creation hit the "New and Trending" list!

I find those GTK "tabs on menu bar" to be so ugly. But the rest of it looks brilliant. I'll give this a go. I've played around with CoreCTL before, but it's definitely not as pretty or as intuitive as this looks.

City-building on the back of a huge creature, The Wandering Village gets a big Story Update

Such a cool game and concept, and really nicely executed too. I'll give this another go, I think. I was slightly turned off by how suddenly certain events could crop up and leave you grasping to get the necessary buildings/infrastructure in place. But with a story-mode, this should be much better guided and telegraphed.

SteamOS 3.7.6 Preview for Steam Deck released, fixing a DOOM: The Dark Ages launch issue

I was vaguely excited about the new Doom, then I visited the Steam page.

1. Denuvo
2. £70
3. 2-day Early Access if you pre-order
4. Ray Tracing as a requirement

Almost any single one of these red-flags would prevent me buying a game. But four? Good job, Bethesda. Very thorough.

Played the demo and enjoyed it, but goddam, those graphics are terrible. And despite the frame-limiter set to 60, it cooked my PC at 140+, and the damn PC nearly over-heated!

Anyway, good game, although the fights felt slightly grindy, and I didn't quite grasp the whole "shoot one gun to build up ammo in the other" until about 30 minutes in!

I think I'll end up grabbing it, but in the meantime, I'm going to check out Deadzone: Rogue (https://store.steampowered.com/app/3228590/Deadzone_Rogue/ [External Link]), which launched a few weeks ago, and appears to be... well, let's just say "very similar", but with much-better looking graphics!
