Quoting: GuestHoly crap! A fantasy RPG that I could enjoy playing, wow, this hasn't happened since 1999, and I was fuckin 6 years old in 1999.

I backed for the 50$ package :P

I will so be playing this.
Woo Hoo! Thanks for jumping on board.

And we are FUNDED!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!

We are currently discussing a fun, small stretch goal for 55k to see if we can reach 110%. There is still 19 hours to get in on this.

Thanks so much to the Linux Gaming community. You have always been super kind and supportive, and we try to be the same right back at ya!

FIRST: Thank you all for the kind words. I am so glad you're all enjoying the game so much. Thanks for helping to spread the word.

SECOND: I am going to risk sounding whiny. I hope I don't. Please forgive me in advance.

Quoting: GuestSeems fun, but it’s a bit expensive.
$9.99 is expensive? How do you folks expect us game developers to stay in business? We have a team of 8 full time staff and a number of part timers, and the game took 9 months to complete. And we will continue to support it with more development over the next few months. That's expensive!

Steam sales and iTunes have created a really warped perception of what a video game should cost. I mean sure, if we were in some heavily promoted Steam sale with 50,000+ guaranteed sales, then we could drop the cost no problem.

But the odds of us ever being included in one of those sales is very small. The vast majority of games never get that kind of promotion.

THIRD: We are so happy to be part of the Linux Gaming community. This is a great site and I am so thankful someone from here encouraged me early to have Linux support on our last game, Dungeon of Elements.

THANK YOU!!! :)

Doh. Sorry. Thank you Funding Crowd Team.

You all amass a TON of data so I am not surprised there is a group of you.

I'm still totally geeked out. Thanks!

WOW! Just....... WOW!

I am incredibly honored that Tower of Elements 2 is #1 on your list of Hidden Gems.

I mean... seriously... I am blown away.

Thanks so much. I am glad you dig the game and our campaign.

I am so proud of our team for the hard work they put in and the passion they pour into our games. And the fact that we can develop for Linux in addition to Windows and Mac means a lot to me. Linux has been at the core of Frogdice from the beginning. Our oldest game, Threshold RPG, has run on Linux servers for 15 years.

Thanks Speedster!

Tower of Elements 2 for Windows, Mac, and Linux On Kickstarter

Quoting: Quote from liamdaweIs there a reason you use PC for Windows?
I am so glad you asked me that because the funny thing is, I actually wasn't using PC to mean windows there. Normally I do, because as stan said above, there are a lot of people who actually get thrown by "Windows" rather than PC. When one says "This is for Windows" somehow they all of a sudden start worrying about what version or what do I mean by that, etc. But when I say "PC" they feel safe.

That is why the title of our Kickstarter project is: "Tower of Elements 2 for PC, Mac, and Linux"

On web pages where we sell our games, we usually use "PC/Windows" to try and clarify things for everyone. For example:

http://frogdice.com/dungeon-of-elements/buy/ [External Link]

When I was typing that message here, I thought to myself "For once, since I am posting on a Linux site, I can say 'PC' referring to Personal Computer and everyone will know what I mean."

To say it in another way: our goal is for every game designed for ANY type of Personal Computer, we intend to support Linux as well as Windows and Mac.

There is another reason I often use "PC/Mac/Linux". It is shorter. And in the day of Twitter and its obnoxious 140 character limit, the extra 5 characters is huge.

Thanks so much for this news update. Linux gamers have been awesome to us and we are thrilled to return the favor.

Our goal is to make sure every PC game we make is also available for Linux.
