I've always loved those, yeah. I keep picking them up and running through them on lazy Sundays

I just wish we had more, way more level packs. The random generator never really created puzzles of the style I liked (big filled playing field, not a sparse lattice) and many community-created puzzles tried to introduce new contraints I wasn't really fond of. There as one set of community puzzle, "a giant helping of vanilla" or something that I liked, but there was only like 4 or so of those.

Yeah, I'm really not into sports and I hate football in particular (living basically next to a stadium for 20 years does things to you), but I would lie if I said I didn't play the heck out of Anstoss and especially Anstoss 2 back in the day.

Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition gets more graphical upgrades

A three-dee RPG that had a modding toolset that created a community of people producing thousands of new stories.

Sure, the main campaign was meh (the two expansions were great, though), but it was more of a showcase what could be done. That's what made the game stand out: the dedication to moddability, letting users create their own content, officially endorsed.

Technically, NWN uses (slightly modified) D&D 3e rules, not 3.5. NWN2 was (again slightly modified) 3.5.

And yeah, that pretty dates when those were released :P

Interestingly, it seems like they're keeping the stencil shadows?

EDIT: Also, uuh, I didn't even see that they had updated the dBase/FoxPro database to SQLite. Makes sense, though.

I guess it was the correct choice to stop recording there and not move on to the next rooms for further "combat" :P

And just for transparency's sake, seedhartha is currently doing his own reimplementation project, focussing just at KotOR/KotOR2: https://github.com/seedhartha/reone [External Link]

As far as I understand, the reason is that xoreos is a bit too big for him to really sink his teeth in. Interestingly, he's gotten pretty far in a short amount of time (the current commit history doesn't really show it, because he flattened the whole thing down when he changed project name yesterday).

It's not a rivalry or anything, and not a "loss" for xoreos, just to make it clear. I'm hoping to basically take what he's learned and apply it to xoreos once his thing is further along. Or maybe he'll even put this into xoreos himself later, we'll see :)

The FLOSS space has a lot of people branching off to do their own, especially when they want to experiment more and have a cleaner test-bed for those experiments.

Quoting: PatolaI don't get why you didn't like it, care to expand?
No, not really. I don't want to turn yet another news story into a griping section and I've said said enough about this game to last me a lifetime already.

Might also be that part of it was just the whiplash of unmet expectations. I'm sure if you're into the whole MMORPG thing, it might even be a servicable game, but, well, it's not for me and it's not what I expected.
