You catch a rules-lawyer that goes about saying "but here in subsection 3, it says X, but by the dictionary definition what I did is Y", don't get down on their nitpicky level, but just ban them. Don't even try to explain yourself to them, they only care about finding loop-holes in your explanation.

Quoting: KelsIn my experience if you get too specific on rules, trolls just use them as monkey bars and you're stuck with an endless game of "not touching youuuuuu!"I feel that kinda touches with my "don't get stuck up on tone" comment. When you see that someone is playing this kind of game, you can just ban them still. You don't have to mindlessly follow the letter of the law, but you need to follow the intent.

Good thing there, yes. I do agree with this measure. :)
However, do keep in mind not to confuse tone with content or intent. Swearing does not mean you're toxic. Likewise, you can be very toxic while cushioning your words with flowery language and appearing calm. When you moderate, you need to evaluate the content of the message (which yes, can be difficult sometimes), not the tone.

The LucasArts adventures, including Loom, are using ScummVM instead of DOSBox.
The problem with this Loom release, though, is that it's the VGA CD talkie version, not the superior EGA version. The talkie version is using standard red-book CD audio for speech and a lot of lines are cut (likely because of size/time constraints).
Also, IMHO, the dither-heavy EGA graphics of the original floppy version look way better than the VGA graphics.

They don't speak English. The most commonly spoken language is "The Truth", a logic-based language, easy to teach and learn, propagated by the Order of Truth.

That's something that comes from the Numenera pen & paper RPG.
And yes, there have been at least 8 different civilizations, not all of them human. At least one teraformed the planet, at least one traveled to distant stars, at least one contacted different dimensions.
Why there's humans again in the Ninth World, nobody knows. That's kind of the point, that there's countless wonders, countless weird things and nobody knows why. There's even a whole section in the GM part of the Numenera core rulebook that says "keeping it weird" is one of the fundamental jobs for the GM.
Also, the long timespan is supposed to provide you a way to handwave technical explanations away. You can introduce weird tech, weird creatures, weird situations without having to give an in-depth treatise on how exactly it works, internally. The people in the world wouldn't know and have no way of knowing it to begin with (and unless they're part of the Order of Truth, they wouldn't necessarily care that much either). The focus of a Numenera game isn't supposed to be on 100% hard SF tech, but on the characters, on personal stories.

FWIW, I can whole-heartedly recommend "I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream". It works with ScummVM, too (however, I'm not sure if GOG bundles it with DOSBox or ScummVM).
The game itself is really dark, but I for one love it. It's a horror game not as much as it contains jump scares or is gory as hell (but there is some gore), but from the psychological aspect. It is a bit difficult, though: you can easily get a non-optimal ending if you don't make sure the various characters are really "happy" with what they do.

Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire announced, has crowdfunding campaign

Apparently, the character you'll play will be the same one from Pillars of Eternity, the watcherm, and certain choices you made in the first game will carry over.
However, at the start of the game, your stronghold Caed Nua will be destroyed by the adra statue, now holding the god Eothas, and you'll have to hunt him down. It's suggested that you'll be island hopping, and you'll get a ship as a replacement for the lost stronghold.
Which is nice and all, but... I liked Caed Nua not just because it was mine, but also because it gave me some status in the world, in the politics. While any old bugger can be captain of a ship, owning land comes with more social standing and more responsibility.
Maybe it's just me, but I would have liked a sequel to tune down on the world hopping and increase the local politics of being the sovereign over that area. Something like what that A Call to Court quest-line of PoE 3.0 foreshadowed, where Lord Gathbin challenged your claim to Caed Nua and you had to fight him off.
With the stronghold destroyed and the watcher hunting after Eothas, does that means we'll just ignore our fief? I guess Gathbin gets back his land after all? :(

This is not about the emails, just the site notifications, right? Because I'd still want a separate mail for each and every comment to articles I'm subscribed to.
However, I kinda wish the notification emails for the same article were together in an email thread. I.e. all of them have the same (fake) In-Reply-To set.
