Dungeonforge Action RPG Is Back On Kickstarter

Yeah, I'm not so sure on that "create something, and it gets incorporated into the world" bit. So a player will wade through an unholy mess of writing styles, themes and tones; 90% of which will be badly written an executed to boot? And that's not even taking into account the trolls and griefers, the idiots and arseholes.

NWN did that correctly: the user-created modules were self-contained, and people could judge the content by the description, and the votes and comments provided by other players.

Unity3D Web Player In Linux Browsers Thanks To Pipelight

Pipelight brings newest versions of Windows plugins (Silverlight, Flash, Unity3D and few others) to Linux browsers using Wine
Ugh, I haven't even heard about this horrible abomination. I'm going to have to roll for sanity loss now.

Quoting: Quote from liamdaweSo because Steam doesn't make it super easy to do something the game developers haven't done (include the native ags) that makes Steam DRM does it?
I didn't say that. I don't care about the purely psychological distinction of whether it counts as DRM or not. I said that what you said, namely "It is as much a burden as logging into a website", is quite stupid, and demonstrated how it's more of a burden than that.

Quoting: Quote from liamdaweIt is as much a burden as logging into a website to download rather than having a dedicated link to download.
I'm sorry, but that's stupid. On Desura, I can freely download even Windows-only games to play them with wine (as much as I hate the necessity). With Steam, I have to reinstall the whole Steam client in Wine because Linux-Steam won't let me download Windows-only games.
This is especially stupid when we're talking about AGS games: I can run them natively with an AGS build from the sources, but I would still have to install Steam in Wine to download them.

It was released back in July. It's been 5 months and dozens of updates, and people still hope that it's gonna be playable some day...

Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny RPG Now On Linux

Blade of Destiny is a faithful remake of the 1992 original
It's even so much a "faithful" remake that the company that publishes the pen & paper roleplaying game officially distanced itself [External Link] from the remake of the computer games (*).

(*) The rights for the computer game lie with a different company, for historical reasons. The current rights holder for the pen & paper system is also not the same company that held them when the original Realms of Arkania games were released.
