Strictly speaking, a reimplementation is emulating the original implementation, by way of reverse engineering. But I agree that "emulator" doesn't really fit the common usage.

Is this the first game listed as "SteamOS Compatible" while being "Steam Deck Unsupported"? I'm still wondering how that's going to pan out over the long term, especially for lesser known / lower profile titles.

Also: it looks like the Steam website still doesn't list SteamOS compatibility info; the Steam Deck Compatibility is still too hard to find if you don't know where to look (IMO).

They could dramatically simplify by having the backplate pre-assembled (grill, thermal plate, button base), but I guess if your target audience is modding enthusiasts, it makes sense to not do that. Increases support/refund requests, though.

If the DOS version used the Build engine, and the Nightdive version (probably) used their KEX engine, then there's a good chance the data files from neither of those would work with this source release. Happy to be proven wrong, though!
