how many sales are Capcom gonna have
It's certainly been a lot of them recently. I don't remember "Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster" or "Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny" in earlier ones, and the pricing is attractive compared to prior sales - but I don't want them that bad. My backlog is too large.

A non-VR version of their Westworld game might be interesting as well.

NVIDIA are investing $5 billion in Intel to develop new chips together

NVIDIA have been wanting to do some proper CPUs
It would have been a lot more interesting if they bought VIA, improved on their designs, and released a proper x86 (or more precisely - amd64) competitor.

I won't trust Nvidia to play well with Linux and they'll poison any efforts Intel have there
Historically, Intel has been very open source friendly. But they have been shedding all that stuff in droves the last couple months. AMD went through a similar phase when they were hurting financially. Would Nvidia's "clutch all the toys" culture infect Intel? Probably not that much, but you never know.

I do wonder what's gonna happen with the whole Intel ARC graphics
Rumors of its demise have been swirling for a while. Which is unfortunate; competition is good for the consumer. Unfortunately, it's taking Intel a bit too long to get competitive.

Nvidia and Intel will clash super hard
Nvidia tends to not play well with others (there's a reason AMD is the GPU of choice in most custom projects, including consoles), so it will be interesting to see how this pans out. Intel has tried the GPU chiplet thing before, with AMD graphics chips. That didn't seem to last long, but I don't think they ever said why...

Valve can ignore margins on the Steam Deck
I doubt they are selling them at a loss, if you are only counting cost of parts and production. Of course, if you factor in R&D and ongoing software development, then maybe they are. As you say, they can certainly absorb some loss by assuming they will make it up on game sales.

"M$ threatened our Windows discounts after that Go S release, so we had to promise a Windows-exclusive release, even though everybody is figuring out it runs way worse that way."

Netbook deja vu?

AMDVLK has been discontinued as AMD are throwing their "full support" behind RADV

what AMD plan to do with amdvlk for Windows
Wondering the same, but the open source Linux drivers have been much better than the Windows drivers (on the OpenGL side as well) for quite some time. ATI's hardware has always been better than their drivers, going back decades, so having Valve, Google, Red Hat, and the rest solving that for them has been great for everybody.

Besides the original Layers of Fear, the original Observer (before the Redux version) also had native support.

I played the original Silent Hill 2 probably 20+ years ago, on the PS2, and loved it. I later played 3, which was also good but not quite as good, then 4 which was definitely a few steps down. Eventually I played the first one; it was for the original PlayStation, so definitely a bit dated, but still better than the 4th game. I think everything that came after 4 wasn't good; I tried one of them (Homecoming?), and wasn't impressed. A few years back there was buzz about a Silent Hills "playable teaser", but I never tried that, and I guess it got scrapped (falling out with Hideo Kojima, after which he made Death Stranding?).

They tried to do a HD remaster of Silent Hill 2 for the PS3, but it had bad reviews, as apparently it was based on a buggy beta release - rumor was that they lost the source code of the final release, which had some important fixes.

Fast forward to the present - I was home sick from work last week, and played a bit of Bloober's remake on the PS5 (got a good deal on it; Steam key is still expensive even on sale!). I have to say, they did a great job, and it is mostly how I remember the original (I'm sure I'd appreciate it a lot less now, having played the great remake).

The new Silent Hill f looks like a different take on it; I'll wait for reviews. However, I certainly wouldn't be opposed to remakes of Silent Hill 1 and 3, done by Bloober. Capcom did great with their Resident Evil remakes, which I'm guessing was the inspiration.

Edit: looks like they *are* doing a remake of the first game too! "We are thrilled to announce that a SILENT HILL remake project is in the works at Bloober Team, developed in close cooperation with our friends from Konami!"
