But after closing it, and running it again, the launcher comes up with Midnight Suns showing, with a Play button. And clicking that, the game does start. I can see pretty quickly they are monetizing on skins...

Quoting: ExpalphalogI still can't get Midnight Suns to launch. That made me curious, so I tried myself. Took a bit, but finally a 2K launcher dialog came up, saying it was updating itself. Now I have a 2K launcher window that just says "Missing games in your library? Launch the game from the platform it was installed from (Epic or Steam)". Well duh, I did that.

Quoting: HighballI haven't taken a look at ChromeOS at all, but I'm sure the Window Manager is just a Wayland compositor. As pointed out in the Ars [External Link] article, ChromeOS replaced X11 with their own "Freon" back in 2016. As I understand it, it required different graphics drivers from the GPU vendors. It's only very recently that they switched to Wayland.

Recently finished Disco Elysium, The Gunk, and Stasis: Bone Totem. Played a little bit of F.I.S.T., and Powers in the Basement. Thinking of trying out Midnight Suns, and Alan Wake (like Liam, I've never played, but it's been in the backlog forever).
Disco Elysium - a bit text-heavy and art style is a bit odd, but great storyline.
The Gunk - pretty enjoyable 3D adventure; have to clean up polluted world (with your backpack vacuum!) to save it.
Stasis: Bone Totem - isometric horror adventure game; I've loved everything made by the Bischoff brothers.
F.I.S.T. - a cute platformer game, but I get a little annoyed at challenging jump-this-way-and-that sections.
Powers in the Basement - a free retro-style point-and-click. A little bit *too* retro in the interface.

Some of those, like Hob's Barrow, are quite recent releases, so that's pretty awesome to see (even if they are using an already supported engine - I think AGS).

Quoting: Purple Library GuyShareware demos were a huge part of gaming in those days. It's quite limited in the selection of available titles though, since they can only put up games that are verified to be either Shareware, Freeware, Demos or games that were made public domain.I'm rather surprised to see that original Warcraft is apparently in this category.

Also curious about Crowns and Pawns; at one point the reviews seemed a bit mixed, although they look fairly solid now. How does it compare to something like the Broken Sword series?
But to answer the question at hand: I've been playing Disco Elysium. The art style put me off a little at first, and it's quite text-heavy at times, but the story and writing have definitely kept it interesting.

Quoting: CatKillerJust finished GTA Batman [External Link] and now I'm playing Crowns And Pawns [External Link].I loved the earlier Arkham games, but I could never get into games with a lot of driving (like GTA), so haven't delved into Arkham Knight much. Is driving the Batmobile required for a lot of the game?

It is pretty awesome that Valve devotes time to fixing non-Steam games too.

Love the Dynamic Collections feature; using that shows me I only have 7 games tagged as having HDR support. I don't have an HDR monitor, so it's just a curiosity at this point, but it will be interesting to see if/how much this increases now that Steam is surfacing it more directly, and the new Steam Deck supports it.
Edit: I'm also curious to see if Valve adds HDR support to their own games.
