Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare 2 adding EA AntiCheat, breaking it on Steam Deck / Linux

Quoting: Geppeto35Lost in Random is quite a nice game also.
I played through that one recently, and enjoyed it as well; I think the stupid EA launcher broke a couple times during my playthrough, but at least Valve got it working again quickly.

Steam Deck SteamOS 3.5.16 Preview improves Persona 3 Reload performance

Reviews are overwhelmingly positive, so clearly the game has something going for it. But I just can't tell what based on the screenshots and video; it looks like a visual novel crossed with Final Fantasy style combat (hence the JRPG part, I guess).

Anyone who played it that can speak to the wide appeal?

Seven does look interesting - and even better, I already have it. :)

Dark Forces Remaster is verified a full month before release? I guess that means it's done, and the next month is just for marketing (and maybe final bug fixes)?

Only game I've played recently is Marvel's Midnight Suns. Probably won't be much else for a while, unless I get distracted!

Quoting: ElectricPrismConfession through projection.
What was I confessing or projecting? I never disagreed with your point, just said it applied more widely.

Quoting: ElectricPrismCould the sub-components come from the mainland, or could there be concerns of the mainland effecting Taiwan companies? Sure -- I woulds say the same is possible for Samsung (South Korea) and LG (South Korea) the same as any other tech from the region, even Japan does manufacturing in mainland China for some things.
The same is possible for most "American" companies, like Apple.

Proton 8.0-5 brings more HDR gaming to Linux / Steam Deck plus lots of fixes
23 Jan 2024 at 7:05 am UTC

Quoting: sonic2kkIn short, it tells games that you can enable HDR (as many games will grey out the option by default)
For those who have used it: would you say it dramatically improves the visuals in your game(s)? After playing with it on, would you be disappointed to play with it off? Just wondering if I should prioritize it as a feature next time I buy a monitor.

If this is a fork for the Steam Deck, why do they have binary releases for win and macos?

As of January 2024 - 75 of the Top 100 most played Steam games work on Steam Deck

Quoting: RandomizedKirbyTree47It may just be a matter of time before a big PC game publisher decides the solution to cheating is to require you to be in "S Mode" (i.e. only have software from the Microsoft Store). That wouldn't just mean the end of WINE: It would mean the end of Steam and all other stores as distribution platforms for AAA games.
I doubt there are too many publishers who want to limit their market to people willing to get everything from the Microsoft Store. Microsoft has tried to push that many times, and it fails miserably every time.

Quoting: Expalphalog*except for using "Glorious Eggroll" - I still have absolutely no idea what that is, how to get it, or how to use it.
I used Proton Experimental for my test, but Liam has had plenty of articles about Glorious Eggroll, like this one:
