Wasn’t the social features what made games like this? Very much like the Forza Horizon series if you take away the social online content like leaderboards and actual competitive racing the game wouldn’t be really that great.
Which is why true offline racing games like Ridge Racer, BurnOut, Split/Second (to name just a few) will always be better being preserved

it's a shame gamers feel the need to cheat, if cheaters didn't exist EA wouldn't feel the need to implement things like this.

I'll only be supporting EA again when they bring out the next BurnOut game. :)

Social games [like The Crew] do have the habit of being shut down as new games in a series get made which is a real pain, although licences for branded content don't normally last forever so it's understandable, which is one of the reasons why all the Forza games are not available in digital stores.
i do think the last year of a title new players thinking about buying a game should be aware on all storefronts of its impeding shutdown and said game should be heavily discounted.
