Exactly. The devs should port to the Nintendo switch at the same time

Quoting: slaapliedjeSo for the complaints earlier about rumble/vibration not working under SteamOS for Saint's Row IV. I just tried it and I can't even get the Steam Controller to work at all with Saint's Row IV. I suppose if I changed it to work as a 'keyboard/mouse' configuration it would, but the recommended by Deep Silver configuration does not work.Yes that exactly my issue. I guess I should report this to the Saints Row IV devs but I can't find a contact email for them. Trust me rumble doesn't work in SRIV. It doesn't work at all in any steam os game besides left for dead 2. I'm sure valve had some custom Api for that game to make it work. Steam OS seems like it never came out of beta.
I know the Steam Controller is working in other games (just played a bit of Sundered with it and died horribly of course).

Quoting: Corbenok? Maybe releasing on Windows made more sense financially.Quoting: jkaartMinecraft Story Mode Season 2 don't launch in wine.Ah okay, didn't test Minecraft Storymode, but e.g. The Walking Dead works perfectly with wine (platinum rating).
Maybe Season 1 works well today, I don't test it yet in wine.

Quoting: razing32Oh come on. How does this even make sense?Quoting: lucifertdarkTelltale were more than likely ordered to kill all Linux development or lose their spot in the Windows App Store. Microsoft have always been shady b'stards.Given M$ attitude to open source I would not be surprised at all.

Quoting: saildataYour response literally means nothing and you are wrong. I'm not making up stuff and I wouldn't lie. I think liamdawe already figured out what I am talking about? Have you even used Steam OS? Maybe if you would actually use it then reply your comment would actually help. Thanks!Quoting: ImFromMostonI have a steam controller but I would not recommend it to anybody. I have given up on it as the support is lacking, in fact its a joke. I wanted to use the controller on the desktop for web browsing etc but as soon as I bring up the keyboard interface and type the first letter it freezes and its been like this since launch.I've got to disagree on this one. I had one issue right when I got it last year, but that was just a firmware update that I believe impacted all OS. Other than that, it's been smooth sailing.
This is what irks me about valve. they seems to throw a half finished product out there then move on to the next thing such as supporting ps4 pads... VALVE, AT LEAST GET YOUR OWN F***ING PAD FULLY FUNCTIONAL BEFORE STARTING WORK ON SUPPORTING SOMEONE ELSE'S CONTROLLER. :><:
I wish I would have had a controller like this as a kid! The build quality is amazing, it feels great to play, and it can be infinitely customized.
I don't know what else I would ask for in a controller at this price ($58.99, Amazon, free shipping) or double this price. To me, it's apparent that a lot of work went into the design, form, and function to produce a controller that works with (almost?) every game I've ever thrown at it. /rant :P
Quoting: Darkdisorder78Dude, come on. Multiple people have said (and I'll ++1) that haptic feedback just works. Not trying to be sarcastic here, but sometimes you just have to dig in yourself instead of reading into all the negative bias that unfortunately creeps into many gaming discussions. If I had a TV show on Discovery, I'd say this myth is busted.Quoting: liamdaweYea I don't understand how? I read that Steam OS doesn't support rumble in the Steam controller. I'm taking about vibration you feel when playing games like Saints Row IV. Now in windows the Steam controller does support vibration in games.Quoting: Darkdisorder78Well haptic feedback works perfectly fine on all distributions ive tested.Quoting: liamdaweYea wasn't steam OS marketed to console players? Yea I was talking about haptic feedback. That's a big feature to forget to add. Plus it works in left for dead 2 which is so silly.Quoting: Darkdisorder78Well now I might get what you mean a little more. So Vibration based on in game actions, rather than the general Haptic feedback?Quoting: liamdaweSo you are saying that the Steam Controller vibrates in Ubuntu 17.04 but not in Steam OS which is based on Debain? Valve once again doesn't know how to market to console players.Quoting: Darkdisorder78Yea sorry that doesn't work. It doesn't work in Linux outside of left for dead 2.Then perhaps you're not setting something up correctly for it, or it's a distro-specific issue.
Here's where you adjust the haptic feedback:
Works without issues for me, on Ubuntu 17.04, always has for as long as I've had it.
Vibration based on actions is another story. As the user above me said.
I meant to tag someone else.. but I already feel like this reply is a bit too long. Regarding the shipping - see the comment above regarding Amazon. That's where I got mine, and it's still sold by Valve, just a different distribution channel.

Quoting: Darkdisorder78They have yet to fix a Steam controller bug in Saints Row IV.Will test that today.
Quoting: Darkdisorder78Plus the part about it hatpic feedback is so pointless unless you are using Windows. It doesnt even work in Steam OS\linux. If I was a linux user I wouldn't buy this controlled.Eh? It has always worked on Linux. You have to turn it on in the config for each game.
