Looks like STAR WARS: Rebel Assault I + II will get their DOSBox versions for Linux on Steam

Quoting: slaapliedje[...]I wish we'd get a proper port of the Windows versions of X-Wing, since they have slightly nicer graphics.
Have you heard of XWVM [External Link]? Its a new Unity based engine for the original X-Wing Simulator game. They've mentioned they intend to support Linux. I've been meaning to poke GOL to do a post on it.

ARK: Survival Evolved has increased its price on Steam to ensure retail parity for the upcoming launch.
So essentially they're using the price of their console game to push up the price of the PC version, or else people would likely go for the cheaper version on PC
@liamdawe I'm not sure if you are saying you agree with that sentiment or not but PC games should always be cheaper as the developer doesn't have to share anywhere near as much of the sale with Steam as they do the consoles which use the money to subsidise the cost of the hardware. PC gamers pay full wack on their hardware but make that back on the savings from the cost of games. And why would it matter if someone chose the PC version over the console? Its still (more) cash to the developer.

I agree the Linux port needs some proper effort put into fixing its issues. Unfortunately the longer developers leave issues on other platforms while they continue to further develop on Windows the more the issues grow and the harder it becomes to resolve them which seems to lead developers to throw their arms in the air and decree developing for Linux is near impossible. From my own experience if you develop for multi-platform throughout it adds little overhead and the end product is always more stable as the other platforms tend to expose bugs sooner that are still there on one platform but less obvious. But I digress. Fix the game Studio Wildcard! We paid for it.

Oooh such a fantastic game. The nemesis system really added to the experience especially in the earlier part of the game when one Orc lucked out on killing me, becoming a captain then kept interfering in my other battles sneaking kill after kill until he was level 20 after the first couple of hours (and I was about level 4). It got really personal when he stopped bothering to kill me because I was so "weak". I got so much satisfaction when I finally figured out how to exploit the vulnerabilities and finally hunted him down. Never so much fun lobbing an enemies head off :)

Bring on the next game please Feral!

The Steam Link & Steam Controller are on sale on Amazon & GAME

Valve tend to do their hardware deals at Game.co.uk in the UK. The Steam Link is on sale there for £12!

Serious Sam Fusion 2017 now has benchmark modes and more, here's some quick tests

@PublicNuisance If you are using a R9 270 with Vanilla Linux kernel then Vulkan will not work. Radv requires the amdgpu kernel module which is experimental on GCN 1.0 cards (it uses the radeon module by default). You'll need to build a custom kernel with CIK support enabled or use the prebuilt ones with DC support made by M-BAB on github [External Link]. Note if you go that route don't forget to blacklist the radeon module by adding the kernel boot parameter:
modprobe.blacklist=radeon.
BTW my past experience with my R7 370 is that Serious Sam Fusion with vulkan performs way better than OpenGL on slower CPUs (e.g. Phenom II).

Steam Controller & Steam Link on sale for a few days, the Link is especially cheap

In the UK you can get them at those prices at Game.co.uk and with free delivery. I picked up the Steam Link for that price the last time it was on sale at Game. One of the best bargain purchases I've made as its worked out great for my girlfriend and I on the couch (though mostly for Pacman :D ). It's a shame that AMD hardware video encoding still does not work on Linux for Steam In-Home streaming. Come on Valve. VA-API encoding has been around for ages.

Oh and as this is my first post on GOL, Hello to the GOL community!
