Uh, i did not realize ubuntu wants to drop multilib - from the headlines i thought they would only scrap the 32bit installer :O
But i highly doubt the alternative will be Debian, much to conservative with new versions. And packing a PPA with recent Kernels and Mesa for Debian seems kind of the wrong way.
Given they are working on KWin, maybe OpenSUSE? Manjaro might also be a good call...
Anyway, switching away from gnome is a good thing imho xD

yeah, things like this were always an ugly risk for linux-backers...
But the straw that broke the camel's back for me to not crowdfund any games anymore was the outer wilds debacle (combined with phoenix point and shenmue3, although i wasn't involved in those).
Moral of the story for me, more than ever: i only buy games that have working Linux-builds and are (at least kind of...) finished...
Sad for all the games that might not make the cut in future crowdfunding campains, and i doubt the people that betrayed the trust of their backers are really aware of just how much they damaged the whole indie-scene...

Quoting: DrMcCoyWell, Linux is PC, more than anything else ;)This does mean their future titles are less likely to be released for LinuxThey even specifically mention that in the video (with different audio quality too, so it seems that was edited in later):

The latest Humble Monthly seems like a good deal for Linux + Steam Play (two early unlocks)

The Early Unlock is usually what i decide on if i pause that month or not - but sometimes i regret it as the other games have had some real gems in them, too.
Usually, the price is worth it for the early unlocks alone though, so the other games are "free extras" and if you haven't got them yet, there are some really good games in the trove, too.
So as someone else wrote: the price is a steal, you just have to have time to play them all.

Quoting: ObsidianBlkI will be honest... I'm very tempted to subscribe to this.i would say that heavily depends on if you are open to new games ^^
Has anyone subscribed? Is it a good value for a Linux gamer? (I have no issue playing through WINE, but do prefer native)

DRM has been blown out the airlock, as X4: Foundations for Linux is now on GOG

Lets hope they at least whitelist it for proton if they don't want to port...i am not willing to buy games that don't at least commit to keep proton working...
DL1 was a real blast, maybe i should install it again some time ^^

Currently pretty addicted to Immortal Redneck, but a sprinkle of War Thunder is always good and i think i'll try Verde Station, too.
Verde Station, a short first-person sci-fi experience has gone free

Nice move, would be nice if more devs handled it that way ^^
(maybe not yet after 5 years, as then maybe many people would wait for it though...)
I've not heard of the game before, but i'll give it a go, space is always a good start ;)

The Japanese navy arrives in the latest War Thunder update, out now and still free to play

i got around 20fps in naval battles on lowest settings with the linux-client, around 50-60 fps with highest settings via proton+dx11 and now around 80-90fps with highest settings via proton+vulkan (steam launch options "%command% -forcestart -driver:vulkan")...all on 1440p

Quoting: mylkahave you tried switching the windows version to vulkan?THANK YOU for that idea - increased my performance even more (i only have a i5 3550 with a rx580)
at least less CPU usage... maybe better FPS
Quoting: TuxeeInteresting. What driver version? As far as performance goes: I have pretty much everything maxed out and reach around 60fps on 2560x1440 both with Vulkan and OpenGL. However, with Vulkan I get TAA, Tesselation, gunner cockpits and less non-critical bugs (OpenGL shows square shadows and smoke looks rather weird). One thing with Vulkan though is a rather sluggish mouse movement in UI. Still on my machine their Vulkan implementation looks quite "late-beta", dunno why they are not switching to this API for all their platforms.AMDGPU - but on KDE. And i don't want to tinker around with compiz to get the game running...
For reference:
The "eastern front" benchmark gives avg 98fps, min 61fps, rating 9755, "tank battle" yields 75/60/4685.
(And my nick in the game is the same as here.)

I still get a blackscreen with vulkan...it's really a shame how they neglect the linux-client.
At least it runs with proton ootb nowadays, 4x the performance with better graphics than the openGL-Linux-client...
Other than that: everybody that hasn't tried it yet should - one of my most played games ^^
