The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition Released For SteamOS Linux

Quoting: Shmerl@killx_den: It sure runs very well for me in Wine (with CSMT enabled). I can't compare to the Steam release since I'm waiting for the DRM-free version. So let's wait for someone to run such comparison.

By the way, are there any tools to measure framerate of games in Wine? And native ones too for that matter. Some games report framerate internally, but not all.
Well I have it both installed, I can play the wine version on ultra. If I try that on the "nativ" version I get like 7fps

Quoting: ShmerlYes, it was expected that the port will be done by the Virtual Programming. It was a low hanging fruit for CD Projekt Red. I'm not familiar with eON framework however. Does it have a bad reputation in general? Is Wine's D3D -> OpenGL translation better performing?

On the bright side, I doubt eON can support D3D11, so if CDPR will get to porting Witcher 3, they'll have to make a proper OpenGL 4.x port of their engine first.
If I remember right it ran better on wine for me :/

Quoting: feketenapThe keyboard settings are empty by default. If I 'restore to defaults' it sets the keys, but they don't work in-game. My character doesn't move but the menus work well with my keyboard. Anybody else have this problem?

Hope this helps :)

Krautscape, A Colourful & Odd Racing Game Now On Linux

They did several KS Updates, were at PAX, posting their Progress in the backer forum and there will be a stream about the editor tonight if I have seen it correctly on their twitter. I wouldn't call that no news. Game development takes some time, also it always depends on the size of the team :/

SCAM
Geez calm down. All I wanted to say is that the concept looks pretty similar. Also Distance is already a sequel of Nitronic Rush. So the concept isn't new.

Krautscape definitely doesn't look bad, but I have so many games that I prefer just one game of that kind of game.

Next time I wont inform about other upcoming Linux games >.>

A Post-mortem On Porting Two Titles To Linux, One Year Of Porting
8 May 2014 at 11:52 am UTC

I have finished both games (I have a nvidia card).

Painkiller was pretty painless ;)
I just had one crash on a DLC map, but that was it so far.

Deadfall Beta was a bit more of a pain though, it took me 12 hours to finish and I had 17 crashes and a lot of stuttering here and there. But I didn't see any graphic glitches. I have sent all the logs to devs and hope they were helpful. Hopefully they will fix it, because Deadfall is a good game imho.

Quoting: Mr NiceThis was not Leszek Godlewski fault. Nordic Games has moved him to other projects look at steam community.
I have read this too on the Steam forum.

I am playing GW2 via wine on Linux and have like 1700 hours played yet :>
Runs good for me between 25fps - 60fps on high settings. I am using this ppa:

Lately I really don't care about Windows games anymore. If I really want to play something I will play it via wine (If I really have to) or on my PS3. Otherwise it is the devs bad luck, because they won't see my money.

I realize that this won't apply to other people and I also know we need some more AAA games, but no matter how many games we get, there will always be someone missing his favorite game on Linux. So just be happy about every new game that comes to Linux, because the more games there are the more people will join thew community ;)
