Quoting: peta77So it downloaded for me and I can play it, but the extra content is missing. In the store it says I own the definitive edition, but doesn't mark the DLCs as owned and also doesn't download them.... Hope this gets fixed soon.. At least meanwhile I can play the main story. With all options and VSync enabled I'm getting a solid 60fps @ 4K :)
Send an email to [email protected] so they can look into it.
yep, did so; as even checking local files for integrity didn't do the trick and redownload would mean at least 6 hours if I get full bandwidth all the time and don't do anything else on the internet, so I'd like to avoid that...

Quoting: wolfyrion...The only thing I'm missing is a VR Video Player for Linux to view stereoscopic videos.
Try Skybox through proton. Works pretty good for me.
Good recommendation, thanks. It's stuttering a bit sometimes (when scanning directories), crashes when using the menu button from my controller. But if you take care of it, it works fine. Until there's a decent native tool it will do for a while.

Looks like Valve could be set to launch something called Steam Cloud Gaming

Quoting: peta77I don't like streaming stuff, requires a very good internet connection and I don't want to have screen resolution in the game restricted by any server. Also for single player games it doesn't make any sense to make an online connection a mandatory to be able to play. So I hope there's no upcoming titles which are exclusively available through cloud gaming. Would significantly throw back desktop gaming.
From Stadia, yes, google plan this. But from steam, i think and hope, they don't planing de jure exclusivity for cloud, but is there posibility for de facto time limited cloud exlusivity, because they can use better CPU, more cores,... and then nobody without today threadriper can play it localy, but in some time, it can be posible.
The only thing that would make sense regarding hardware capacity would real-time-raytracing, like that old remote-rendering i.e. SGI did long ago, where your render CPUs/GPUs would be somewhere in the basement and bigger than your appartment. But other than that, for gamers with high-end hardware it would just be a giant step back. I understand that such things are good for tablet or smartphone gaming, but not for the desktop. I don't want to go back to dumb terminals that rely on tons of external hardware and a hyper reliable high bandwith network. I'm pretty happy with having a "supercomputer" under my desk, even if it costs a bit more.

Quoting: wolfyrionI am thinking to get Valve Index VR as Xmas Present, I wonder if its worth it to use it under Linux.

Also I wonder how is VR under Linux , do we have enough titles or at the end is not worth it?
It developed pretty well with the recent updates and, at least for me, works pretty fine. That with a Vive, but I suppose the Index should perform at least as well as it's Valve's own stuff.
There are a couple of titles already, like Talos Principle VR, Allspace, ZED and others. Also it works pretty well together with proton. So if you have a VR game that works with proton, it's very likely you get it running with your VR equipment. The only thing I'm missing is a VR Video Player for Linux to view stereoscopic videos. Steams VR video play unfortunately isn't available for Linux. But I guess that's just a matter of time...

I hope the Pimax will support Linux in the near future. Because right now the low resolution is a major downside of the stuff for me. The visual quality is pretty bad compared to a normal HD-Display.

The audio device selection was the most annoying lately, so good to hear they work on that. Haven't tried the new version yet, so can't tell if it works. But at least they got it that it's an issue to be dealt with.

Transport Fever 2 confirmed for release on December 11, Linux support included

Wonderful.
Really like the first one and the videos they've already been showing look very promising that this might be even more fun.

Quoting: theghostThe first one is pretty cheap on sale.
At the beginning the performance was a bit low.

Did someone played the first one recently and can you recommend it?
Well, what do you mean with recently? It's a few months ago (May, this year according to steam client), but it was behaving well. It was just big maps with lots of infrastructure already build and many train, bus, ship, lines present (so very late in a free game) where at some points things might get a bit slow in some situations, but not in general.
I definitely recommend it, big improvements to its predecessor train fever. And way better than railway empire (was on sale recently, so i tried, but am not happy with it compared to transport fever). So if you're into that kind of games you should give it a shot. Or watch some gameplay videos first to get an impression, I'm pretty sure there's many out there.
