Integer scaling! Is this for WINE in general or a Proton-only thing?
Build and manage a totally scientifically inaccurate Beehive in Hive Time, out now

They do make developers life increasingly difficult. OpenGL hasn't been updated in ages and will get dropped in favor of their proprietary API, they dropped 32 bit support and introduce increasingly obnoxious yet useless "notarization".
It's what they've been doing all along, but they are consequent now and pull tight the thumb screws for developers as well. You either buy in or you are out.
I did a bit of testing on Hive Time and it's a cute little management game, fun for a couple hours at least until you have figured out how to succeed. Definitely listen in on the soundtrack, which is actually released under CC BY-NC-SA!

Quoting: Purple Library GuyInteresting asterisk on the systems supported. It supports MacOS, but only "10.14 or older". I've never seen that before; I wonder why. That's actually pretty old as far as I can tell. Not that it matters to us, but it made me curious.10.15 released a month or so ago and Apple "usually" supports the three most recent releases. Yes, the great Apple everyone seems look up and to aspire to doesn't even have a proper release or support plan. I've been using it for a few months at work now and to me it smells more like a polished turd.

As I have recently spent way too much time on this crap (getting a laptop with Optimus™ to work properly) I wonder, what's the difference between this and optimus-manager? Does it achieve the same performance or is it as poor as primerun or bumblebee?
Story-driven action RPG 'Children of Morta' is still coming to Linux but no ETA

So three articles about it here, the devs kept saying they'd release a port and now more than three months after release there is still nothing and the devs went quiet on the topic. It's sad once more.
Microsoft Teams is now available on Linux

This apparently has been in the works for years. People created their own mostly working versions using Chromium or Electron with certain settings. A Mac version has been available for I don't know how long.
Teams is pretty bad though, I have to use it at work and there are frequent issues with login, call quality, etc. and lack of common features like a useful search.
Still good for me that there is some movement, it's pretty much the only thing I depend on for work that is not available for Linux.

So if you have a Windows game that uses DX11 but nothing else Windows you can compile it against that (once it's done). I guess this is way less useful than it at first sounds.

Quoting: F.UltraEh, it *will* work through SteamPlay. Good enough for the Linux folks.Quoting: rkfgI have a feeling that as SteamPlay becomes more and more reliable this situation will become common. I wonder what Valve would do if anything at all.I hardly think that they pulled the native Linux build due to SteamPlay when you need a custom build of Proton to make it work.

"including issues like not finding enough users with QA experience to help."
If that's their sorry excuse then I have to say: "How about you test your bloody game yourself?"
I'm a dev and gladly help other devs test their game, but this excuse just stinks to hell and back.

Seems like Discord's new "Go Live" feature is not coming to the Linux version

I've just witnessed a dev use that thing to stream.
I couldn't join the stream mind you, clicking what looked like a voice chat channel did... zilch.
Turns out you can only stream from Windows 10 and only watch using Chromium.
At least in this instance the stream was suffering from /packet loss throughout, causing drops in video quality and cuts in audio.
So far I'm not impressed.
It's a shame Discord has become the norm for game devs as well as streamers to use, it will be damn hard to get people to use anything else.

I have met the devs this weekend at Game Dev Days Graz and they were really nice. I was glad to hear that they have a Linux build and were accepted on GOG. They simply didn't have time yet to put the game on GOG. I hope the Linux build will be available everywhere, but it's not helpful that stores have limitations.
They weren't aware that the GOG backend for Linux is different (I think it still is, I don't know) or that there is no DLC concept on itch.
I'm sure they'll try their best though, I'll make sure to support them on Fig.
