The Humble Daedalic Bundle 2018 is a good deal for Linux gamers

Quoting: hummer010That's a great bundle ... if I didn't already own every single Linux game in it!I used to, when they still made P&C adventures. Oh well, I like them for their continued Linux support and some of the stuff they publish these days is decent too. From the list above I got the Deponia games (of course!) and Caravan. I hear that Shadow Tactics is really excellent, just not my cup of tea. I like it laid back and relaxed ...
Apparently, I really like Daedalic :)

Didn't mean to get it at release, but ran across a boxed copy in store last Saturday. Bit of a let-down, though: cool cardboard box, but nothing inside except for 3 install discs. Also, while the discs claim to be PC/Mac/Linux hybrid DVDs, I didn't find any Linux binary on them whatsoever. So had to download from Steam and wait for official release day.
Nice touch that it allowed importing my saved game from part 1, while still being able to change my character choice I'd made back then (it had been pretty bad, all things considered). Played a few hours yesterday and today, and just had my first crash to desktop. Hoping there's an autosave not too long ago. So much for playing games right after release ...
What I've been seeing so far isn't bad, however. Perhaps a trifle too much emphasis on eye-candy, and I'm wondering if fully voicing all dialogue might have compromised the amount of information NPCs are able to give, but I guess these are concessions to be made to today's audiences.

DXVK, the Vulkan compatibility layer for Direct3D 11 and Wine has a fresh release reducing CPU overhead

Edit: upgraded to 390.40, and that fixes the glitches. Great! 30+ FPS with my GTX 950 on medium settings :-).

Quoting: Xpanderwhat is messed up? visuals? what driver version? as it works fine for me with nvidia.Yeah, the visuals, as illustrated in the screenshot from my original post. Still on 384.111, so that might be a reason.

Quoting: TheRiddickWasn't the specific wine prefix I was worried about, but wine installation itself, as wine-staging 3.5 did replace wine-staging 2.21. As they came from different PPAs, I was able to revert back however.Quoting: kaimanA bit worried to mess up a working configuration with wine-staging 2.21, though.Doesn't everyone use a container application like PlayOnLinux or just prefixes?

Quoting: holziKingdom Come: DeliveranceTried with wine-staging 3.5 and DXVK. Same as with wine-devel. Looks like it might be an nVidia-specific problem. Now back to wine-staging 2.21, as that at least gives twice the FPS I get with wine-staging 3.5. Though only half of those I'd get with DXVK :-/

Interesting. Had tried Kingdom Come: Deliverance with Wine 3.5 and DXVK a week ago, and it didn't look right. Will have to make another attempt now.
No dice. The main menu and loading screens look great:
When playing the game itself, it looks like this, however:
May need to try a recent wine staging to see if it makes a difference. A bit worried to mess up a working configuration with wine-staging 2.21, though.
